It's crazy to think it is that time of year again where we are going to say goodbye to the past year and say hello to the future. I am sure I am not the only one who can say 2015 was a little rough, and excited to put it behind me. Thankfully, I did manage to improve on several areas of my life that will help create a more prosperous outlook for myself for 2016. Unfortunately, with the New Year comes peoples desperate attitude to make resolutions that will change themselves completely, but as a college student, there are a couple things us 20-somethings just need to promise ourselves that don't include promising to go to the gym every day, or eating healthy.

Most people are not going to keep their resolutions all year long. They’ll start out with the best of intentions but the worst of strategies, expecting that they’ll somehow find the willpower to resist temptation after temptation. When you're in college you need to look at life a little differently, and sometimes we find ourselves taking life just a little too serious. Here is a list of New Years Resolutions you should promise yourself this year:

1. To love myself like Kanye loves himself and believe in myself like Kanye believes in himself.

2. To stop caring how many likes I get on my Instagram pictures.

3. To be less perfect.

4. To find out what's making Shia LaBeouf so angry.

5. To convince myself that donuts are good for me.

6. To not study for that exam tomorrow, and go out drinking instead.

7. To get a drunken tattoo, and not regret it the next day.

8. Cancel my gym membership.

9. To take one day and not worry about my future.

10. To stop considering other people's feelings when they so obviously don't consider mine.

11. To balance my checkbook.

12. To not bore my boss by with the same excuse for taking leaves. I will think of some more excuses.

13. To do less laundry and use more deodorant.

14. To accept that you're a belieber.

15. To try to figure out why I really needed ten e-mail addresses growing up.

16. To try to eat more nice things like candy, Big Macs, popcorn, and ice cream. Eat less crap like fresh fruit, vegetables, and soy nuts.

17. To stop exercising, because it is such a waste of time.

18. To sit next to someone new every single class.

19. To come up with a stronger Wi-Fi password than "baloney 1".

20. To stop correcting peoples grammar.

21. To stop updating everything you do in Facebook.

22. To not appear happy on social media, but actually be happy in real life.

23. To drink more coffee.

24. To be more independent.

25. To watch more college football, and to actually know whats going on.

26. To stop acting older than your age.

27. To stop making fun of people on your group chats.

28. Accomplish my goals of 2015 which I should have done in 2014 because I promised them in 2013 and planned them in 2012.

29. To stick to these resolutions for more than a week.

30. To learn what the hell "resolutions" even mean.

In college, you need to realize you only have 4 years to really live your life and making New Year's Resolutions that are supposed to change your life are just not realistic. So the only advice I have to give is stop worrying so much and just live your life like you want to. Good luck, and here is to an amazing 2016 year.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
