It is hard to believe that 2016 only has about 2 months remaining, and it is even harder to believe football season is right at halfway over. Here are the stages of the 2016 Clemson Football Season"
1. Showing Auburn who the REAL Tiger Team Is.
Now regardless of your opinion on this September 3rd season opener, we can all agree on one thing: Clemson won. Yes, some may say we did not play up to our potential, but at the end of the day, Clemson bonded together as a team and pulled off a win. We put down the doubts which we had all been under since the schedule was announced and showed the country once again, we can be the best team in the country.
2. Almost Becoming Troy's Toy.
Once again, Clemson received a lot of flack for this game. Some even went as far to label it as "Clemsoning"...... which is enough to make any Clemson fan boil. Yes, the score on the scoreboard should of been higher in most people's eyes, but at the end of the game all that matters is what is there when the game clock reads FINAL. Once again Clemson is 2-0, when everyone believed we would be 1-1.
3. Showing SC State How Death Valley Got Its Name.
SC State came up to Clemson and found out real quickly how Death Valley got its name. This 59-0 shutout showed everyone that Clemson got their fire back, and there was no stopping them. Can I get a 3-0??
4. Letting the Yellow Jackets Lose Their Sting.
Every Clemson fan knows that Georgia Tech tends to give Clemson some trouble. Their ability to run the option has in past seasons been pretty amazing. Every Clemson fan knows that the option is an old Clemson trick, but those yellow jackets weren't able to pull off a sting on a tough Tiger. 4-0!!!
5. Sending Louisville Back to "Loser"ville.
Another game in which Clemson had heard about all season. Doubts lingered in the air from every possible source leading up to this game. But once again, Clemson squashed doubts and pulled off an amazing victory... reminding people that all that matters once again is what is on the scoreboard when the game clock says FINAL. Hope the Cardinals had a good trip back to "loser"ville with a pit stop at 5-0!!
6. Not Allowing the Boston College Eagles to Soar.
Despite the fact that Clemson was going into this game 5-0, talk about "Clemsoning" was in the air. However Clemson did not allow those Eagles to soar, and took the wind right out from under them with a 56-10 victory. 6-0 never felt so good.
7. Wolves May Run In Packs But They Can't Stop a Tiger Attack.
Well, this is the first game of the season in which Clemson had to go into overtime. Yes, another game that kept us all on the edge of our seats. But Dabo's incredibly smart decision to call a timeout allowed for the NC State player to get shaken up enough to miss a field goal that pushed the game into overtime. After that Clemson was ready to fight, and the Wolf-pack couldn't stop a Tiger attack in the end zone that once again lead to a Clemson Victory. 7-0!!!
8. OFF WEEK.
Everyone gets a little sad on an off week I believe, but every team needs their chance to rest. With the team we all love to hate, Florida State coming up next week, we need our rest.. as a fan base, team, and Clemson family. Ready to be 8-0!!
This 2016 season has been one for the books. We have seen the ability of a Clemson team to come together and pull of a victory when we all least expected it. The rest of the season may present challenges, however we all know our Clemson Tigers can pull off a victory. Plus I'm ready to taste some fried chicken on November 26th.
