When you find the special someone who finally makes falling in love worth it, we all have an idea of what we hope that relationship or person to be like. I haven’t found someone I exactly want to settle down with at this point in my 20s, but I know that if I do, I already have a relationship in my life that I will idealize, and if I’m lucky, I’ll have a romantic relationship just like the friendship I have with my best friend. There are certain characteristics I hope to find in a future partner; some people look for qualities like those they find in parents or siblings, but the love of my life also better be a whole lot like my best friend in many ways!
1. Your BFF gets you to the point where you can share a look and be on the same page. 2. She holds you when you cry -- mascara running, snot and all.
3. You guys yell at each other, then laugh because you know it’s just a stupid fight that isn’t going to change your relationship permanently.
4. You never have to filter what you say, and she loves that about you.
5. She literally never judges you.
6. You talk on the phone at least once a day and are constantly texting and Snapchatting throughout.
7. She’s the first person you call with exciting news or much-needed advice.
8. You spend every moment together and never get sick of each other.
9. You do cute things for each other every once in a while to remind the other person how much you care.
10. She compliments you.
11. You always tell the truth to one another -- there’s nothing you can hide from your true best friend.
12. She sticks up for you because no one messes with her bestie.
13. She’s the one you have real deep talks with and, therefore, understands exactly how you think because she thinks the same way.
14. She makes decisions for you when you can’t because she knows what’s best for you.
15. She pushes you to be better.
16. She’s one of the few people you don’t feel an ounce of anxiety around.
17. And when you’re feeling anxious, she builds you back up and gets your mind off things.
18. You can sit in silence together when you need to do just that.
19. Outside of family, you are the most important person in her life and she reminds you of that every day.
20. She’s the greatest thing to happen in your life, and no other love can take that away from you. But she sets a damn good example for when the right guy comes around, because of course, she’ll know immediately if he’s right for you or not.
