It happens to all of us college kids. The semester is over, finals week is already a distant memory, and it's time to finally go home for Christmas break. In the beginning, you're truly excited to see your old friends and your family. It feels like it's been forever since you actually talked to your parents or spent time with your siblings. And of course you can't wait to be reunited with your true best friend, your pets.

But if we're being honest, we all know that quickly begins to fade after the first week. You start to miss the freedom and independence you have at school. And then you remember what it's like to stay up as late as you want and going to Taco Bell at 3am with your favorite roomies. You thought you needed some time away from school, but now you realize how much you really love it there. From the good to the bad, here are twenty thoughts all college kids have while being home for Christmas break.

1. "Okay I'm going home for three weeks, so I definitely need my entire wardrobe."

2. "I wonder if my pet has missed me as much as I've missed them?"

3. "I can't wait to have an actual home cooked meal!"

4. "Omg look at all of these holiday treats. Cookies, brownies, pie, fudge, cake, candy, and more. I can feel a cavity forming now..."

5. "My bed is literally the comfiest place in the entire world. I'm never leaving again!"

6. "I'm so exhausted from this semester, I'm just going to sit here and do nothing for days."

7. "I have absolutely no money to buy Christmas presents, so looks like we're going homemade this year!"

8. "I can't wait to see all of my old high school friends!"

9. "Maybe if I take Mom shopping, she'll buy all of the clothes I want for me..."

10. "I think I gained at least fifteen pounds since I've been home."

11. "Wait... I have to tell my parents where and when I want to do something now??"

12. "I think it might actually be possible to watch too much Netflix..."

13. "I haven't changed out of my sweatpants in four days."

14. "Is there any way I can go out in public without running into everyone I don't want to see from high school?"

15. "If I don't check my grades, then is it possible they never actually happened."

16. "I hate all of these vegetables Mom is trying to make me eat. I miss midnight runs to Taco Bell so much..."

17. "I wish my college friends were here. I'm so bored!"

18. "Wait, it's not acceptable to stay up till 2am and sleep until noon anymore?"

19. "I miss my apartment and my pantry full of junk food"

20. "I can't wait to go back to school!"

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
