People always talk about the bad things in each sorority girl.I hate to be the one to tell you, but everyone has flaws. Anyone who is not affiliated with Greek Life instantly judges them by the stereotypes on campus. Despite all the negative attention, each year the number of girls going through sorority recruitment increases. Becoming a part of a sorority means becoming a part of tradition, sisterhood, and a bond so strong it lasts for life. Although many people won't tell you, there are many things that sorority girls do better than the rest.
1. Responding to their GroupMe. One person will ask a question and within 20 seconds, four people will have answered. Call it a cell phone addiction, or just helping out a friend.
2. Creating a line in Starbucks. Even if we don't all get a drink (which rarely happens), we stand there for moral support.
3. Taking up all the Stair Masters at the gym. When you join a sorority, someone will always be there to motivate you to exercise. The stair master is the perfect activity because you can read your notes from the day while casually staring at the boys weight lifting below you.
4. Sharing Netflix accounts. If someone tells you they don't know a password to a Netflix account, they are not your real friend. However, we simply share all accounts. If one has too many users, you can just switch to another.
5. Car rides. I don't take my car to college because I share it with other family members. However, a lot of people take cars to college and you are lucky enough to know so many of them. Need a ride to get a new phone? Someone will be there for you. Need a ride to the doctor? They are sprinting to get their car across campus for you.
6. Social media popularity. No one is a more loyal follower than your sisters and their biological sisters. That's right, even their sisters make sure you're popular on social media.
7. Stealing clothes. Of course, not from an actual store. Rather, we simply steal from each other's closets. I mean you signed up to live on the sorority floor, you might as well use all of its perks.
8. Eating Canyon Pizza. Don't worry, you'll never have to go through it alone.
9. OrderUp. You want to order McDonald's for delivery even though you can see it from your bedroom window? That's cool, no one will judge you for it. Instead, people will probably try to get in on the order.
10. Always making it home. You may not remember how you got into your bed after Saturday night. It doesn't matter because your sister nursed you back to health and you couldn't be more grateful.
11. Summer visits. You think you will be alone for the summer? You are sadly mistaken. You'll see a familiar face way more often than you think.
12. Home-cooked meals. Be thankful for their boyfriends. It is because of the boys that home cooked meals are made and the leftovers become your dinner, too.
13. Wearing Lilly Pulitzer. Obviously you southern belles pull it off better than I. However, every sorority girl has a pretty white Lilly dress in her room. If they tell you otherwise, they are lying.
14. Learning how to dress. You may not have been trendy before your sorority, but you're trendy now. There are so many girls keeping up on the latest styles that you have to keep adding new "staple outfits" to your wardrobe just to have a conversation.
15. Movie nights. You will know when "Grey's" and "Scandal" are back on because the sorority floor is so quiet you can hear the sounds of the show occupying every single room.
16. Being yourself. A sorority teaches you that the most important thing is to be yourself. The girls chose you to become a part of their sorority because they already love you. You no longer have to impress them, you are one of them. So be funny, sad, hospitable, enjoyable, creative, and loving, but most importantly, be yourself.
17. Helping you study. Someone is always willing to help you when you need it, despite their busy schedule. You will never have to study alone or remain clueless on a topic in class because someone is always ready to rescue you.
18. Putting others first. A sorority will teach you that the most important thing is to think about others prior to yourself. Do not do something that reflects poorly on your sisters, and do not avoid your community service. A sorority helps out its community and its people.
19. Yoga pants. If you're in a sorority, you own at least 10 pairs of these. Sorority girls wear yoga pants more than fraternity guys wear Timberlands.
20. Traveling in herds. Freshmen travel in herds because they are afraid to be alone. Sorority girls travel in herds because they just can't get enough of each other.
