"It's all up to you"

19 Things To Know By 19

19 seems to be the year that's simply a number... you can't legally drink, but you can already vote and drive. 19 is known as just another year in the life... by 19 however, there are things you should know and remember every day you live in order to be a good human. Here's 19 things to know by 19...

1. You're beautiful with or without the guy.

Guys will screw you over, and that's okay. Don't ever find the beauty you possess lower than you deserve because you don't have a boy telling you every second.

2. Don't plan your life out too much.

Planning to be married in your early twenties with the perfect man and perfect children and perfect dog should not consume your time. Dream at night, but live the moment you're currently in. Your adult life will work out the way it's supposed to.

3. Using mom and dad's money won't last forever.

If you're lucky enough to have parents that help you financially, that's great. Be sure to truly appreciate them though, and maybe take a step away from that and be independent. They won't be around with their wallets forever.

4. Learn to walk in heels.

It's not cute to stumble around because you're in a pair of heels... be classy and confident.

5. It's okay if he doesn't text you back.

If he doesn't text you back, it's not the end of the world. Whether it's your boyfriend or a crush, you each have lives of your own. Don't think you have to talk 24/7 for reassurance.

6. To-do lists are life savers.

Plan out your day and reach your goals. Why waste your time doing anything else?

7. It's okay to not know what you want to do in life... just be determined.

By 19, whether you're in college or not, who the hell cares if you don't know what you want as a career. However, that doesn't mean you should waste time being stressed and sad over it. The only way you'll discover what you want from life is to be happy during the journey.

8. Know your limits.

When it comes to sex, alcohol, and partying, know what you want. Sit down and think to yourself about how you want to live your life because in college, all of those things will take a huge toll on you. Know what you want and stick with it. It'll help you so much in the end.

9. Having the extra slice of pizza won't kill you.

Yes, be healthy. Don't eat pizza everyday, but don't beat yourself up on the inside for wanting to pig out with your friends during a fun drunken night. Lifes short, don't take it too seriously. You're beautiful no matter what.

10. Forget about your first love... hats off to the second.

That guy that screwed you over doesn't deserve someone as kickass as you anyways. Appreciate the boy that made you feel alive all over again in the most beautiful way. Appreciate them always and the courage they had when deciding to try and break down your walls.

11. Drama shouldn't have a part in your life anymore.

If you're still worried about what so and so did last weekend or what she said about so and so, grow up. Plain and simple. Drama should be left in high school.

12. Give 100% when it comes to school.

If you're lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to college, yet you're not putting your full effort into it all, rethink that. Many people don't have the option of receiving an education. Don't take advantage of it.

13. Balance is key.

Workaholics are too boring, yet the wild ones need to settle down. Have your fun and be successful at whatever it is you do. That's how happiness is born.

14. Social media is a fake world. Don't get too caught up.

Connect with people, and share the happy parts of your life. But if you're still subtweeting your crazy ex, just stop.

15. Being boring is actually okay sometimes.

If you want to stay in for a netflix night rather than going out to that party after a long week, do it. Literally just do what you want. Don't ever feel bad about that.

16. Staying in contact with old friends is good.

If someone who was once in your life often had a positive impact on you somehow, continue to wish them well and catch up whenever you can. Life is always moving and you won't regret holding those friendships with you always.

17. Your relationship with your parents is so important.

One day they won't be here for you anymore. Scary, right? Get off your high horse and spend quality time with them. Your friends will always be there and so will your college social life. Quality time is so important.

18. Don't live on someone else's terms.

You have this one life. Do it for yourself, not for anyone else.

19. Nothing exciting happens at 19.

That doesn't mean you should dread this year, however. Make it your year. By 19, you should know you are the most deserving of all the happiness in the world. Make it happen. It's all in your hands.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
