Are you someone who has not had most foods? You thrive on junk food and have the dietary preference of a child? You get anxious when someone tries to feed you something new? Chances are you're definitely a picky-eater. We are a rare breed that most people cannot understand. Those people cannot fathom how we are exactly alive and how we have not had a heart attack yet. We may not eat "adult" food but we could definitely point someone in the right direction for the best ice cream or to the nearest restaurant with the best chicken fingers. Here are some common struggles of the misunderstood picky eater:
1. Having to check the menu of a restaurant before you go out to eat with friends, just to make sure there's something that you can eat.

2. You avoid most healthy foods.

3. Going to a family gathering or party and observing the table of food like:
And if there is no pizza you just head straight to the dessert table or suffer in silence until the party is over and make your parents stop by the closest Wendy's for a big ol' frosty and some fries.
4. People legitimately wonder how you are alive.
It probably has something to do with the fact that you rarely put anything green into your body. But your diet seems to be doing a pretty good job if you're here now, right?
5. Your "friends" are always trying to get you to try new things, even if you know you won't like it.
Just call it a hunch, but you legitimately can feel it when you know you're not going to like something.
6. Feeling really guilty about the way you eat.
7. So you guilt yourself into eating something healthy.
Which usually ends up going something like this.
8. Saying you aren't hungry when you're at a friend's house because you don't have the heart to say you don't like what they are having.
Or sucking it up and joining dinner which could look something like this:
9. You always order off the kid's menu.
No shame. You're simply a cheap date.
10. If you ever try new things your friends/family make a very big deal about it.
11. Eating something completely different for dinner than the rest of your family.

12. Being limited with your food options if you are away at school.
13. Doing the "nose grab" when you try something new so you can't taste it.
No matter how ridiculous this looks, it works 10/10 times.
14. Saying you don't like something even if you've never tried it.
You just know.
15. Being asked "why are you so picky?"
16. The idea of going out to eat on a first date gives you anxiety.
Because as if a first date wasn't awkward enough let's throw in your child-like eating habits and see how far that gets you.
17. Chicken, cereal, cookies, pizza and mac and cheese is pretty much all that you eat.
Can I get an Amen?
