With summer just around the corner, the inevitable, never-ending chatter about the perfect body is upon us. The insanely unhealthy diets commence, the gym becomes packed, the bathing suits come out, and everyone becomes obsessed with having a slim, toned body. Our society is, for lack of better words, messed up when it comes to our beauty ideals and standards (but that's an issue for a whole different article). In spite of it all, here are some signs you have the perfect body.
1. You were born with all of your body parts, and they are all functioning properly.
2. You can breathe in and out effortlessly.
3. Your nose can detect a fresh-cut lawn, the salty smell of ocean air, and flowers in the springtime.
4. Your heart is beating steadily and pumping blood.
5. Your legs can carry you from where you are to where you want or need to go on a daily basis.
6. You have taste buds that allow you to distinguish salty from sweet and a stomach that can digest those foods.
7. You have arms that give you the ability to hug loved ones, wave hello, and reach out to help someone up.
8. You have a voice that allows you to sing, speak your mind, and tell someone you love them.
9. Your sense of touch allows you to feel water rushing over your body, a cool breeze on a hot day, and the sun warming your skin.
10. You have teeth to help you chew your food.
11. You can go to the bathroom and expel waste from your body.
12. You have eyes that -- with or without glasses or contacts -- allow you to see a wedding, read a book, and watch a sunset.
13. You have the ability to create human life.
14. You have ears that allow you to hear the lyrics to your favorite song, waves crashing on the beach, and laughter.
15. You have hands that allow you to pick up a sandwich, pet dogs, and open doors.
16. You can swallow.
17. You have fingers that can type out a message, intertwine with the fingers of another human, and scratch an itch.
