18 Times You Contemplated Quitting Your Waitressing Job

Being a waitress is both a blessing and a curse. There aren't many things out there that beat taking home cold hard cash after a long night at work, but there are SEVERAL things that make you question your job choice. From rude customers to impressively messy kids, sometimes it's pretty stressful.

1. "You were great! Keep the change." (and it's $1.03)

2. "We're probably just gonna sit here and drink until close." (and you're next to be cut)


3. "I didn't like my meal." (and they ate it all)


4. "So, what's your REAL job?" (and this is an actual real job)


5. "Can you put a little *extra* in my long island?" (and they refuse to pay extra)


6. "I'm sorry, these kids are so messy." (and they don't make any effort to pick up after them)


7. "Well, last time this wasn't a problem." (and it is a problem)


8. "I want to speak to a manager." (and your manager is just going to repeat exactly what you just said)


9. "There's gonna be either 2, 5, 10, or 20 of us. We're just not sure yet." (and they think it's funny)


10. "Diet Pepsi." (and you asked how they were doing today)


11. "Nah, you can keep it." (and you asked if they were ready for the bill)


12. "MA'AM! I NEED A REFILL." (and you're already across the restaurant)


13. "We're never coming here again." (and you did everything you could to make them happy)


14. "We're all gonna need separate checks." (and there's 20 of them)


15. "I'm sure anyone could be a waitress. It's not that hard." (and they're not kidding)


16. "I promise I'm 21. I just don't have my ID." (and they look 12)


17. "If you could *hook us up* with your employee discount, that'd be cool." (and they're being serious)


18. "That plate is SO HOT. I just BURNED myself." (and you told them it would be 'very hot')
