It's only been a few days into break and I already feel myself going crazy. Many students are home because their college extended their spring break and/or are preparing for online classes. It's our duty as responsible adults, to take into account the situation we are in and stay home for the sake of everyone around us even if that means foregoing our much awaited plans for spring break. Here is a list of 17 things you can do to lessen the boredom while at home.

It's a great way to just relax and feel yourself go back in time to simpler days.

Organize your room

Giphy

I've found that the process of organizing my room is really relaxing and helps me clear my head.

Help out around the house

Giphy

Being away from college allowed me to escape from household chores but now that I'm back and being a pain in the ass to my family, I figure the least I could do is organize and clean other rooms in the house.

Take notes for classes

Giphy

I know this isn't the priority during spring break but if you're ever feeling motivated, take notes for your classes so that you're not overwhelmed once classes start again.

Watch a movie or an episode (or two) of a TV show

Giphy

Go through your list of movies and TV shows you've been wanting to watch and grab your favorite snack! Hands down one of the best ways to relax and just escape reality for a little bit.

Read a book

I kept telling myself that I didn't have time or that I had all these other things to do were higher priorities. Now that I have all this time what better opportunity then now? I'm trying to go through my list.

FaceTime a friend

Giphy

Being that we are stuck at home when otherwise we would be out hanging with friends, video calling them is one of the best ways to stay in touch.

Find and do a DIY project

Giphy

It can be the simplest project or even a bit of a complex one. It's just really nice to do something yourself and to see your handiwork around the house.

Look through old photos

Giphy

Maybe start a scrapbook! It's nice to just have that time to look back and reminisce or to learn of new stories from your childhood or of your family.

Cook/Bake Something

Giphy

Try out new recipes that you've never thought of doing before.

Workout

Giphy

Now that I'm at home, I've actually run out of excuses to postpone working out. There are so many workouts out there that don't require a machine or equipment of any sort so an at-home workout is the way to go.

Learn something new

Giphy

Like origami! I've always wanted to learn and actually make something decent looking but I never got around to it. Or maybe you can even brush up on a foreign language during this time.

Listen to music

Giphy

This is a great time to find new music or just chill and listen to old favorites in the comfort of your room.

Play video/computer games

Giphy

My first few days of break consisted of me playing throwback computer games that I almost forgot about. I also got around to trying new games that were suggested to me.

Text/call people you haven't talked to in awhile

Giphy

It's easy to get caught up in life and sometimes simply forget about keeping up with people you don't see anymore. Take this chance to catch up with old friends!

Learn the dance to a song

Giphy

What better way to make use of your time than learn a bunch of Tik Tok dances! Or even the dance to a song that you've always wanted to learn.

Make a "Betterment" checklist for yourself

Giphy

Make a checklist of all things you want to do that you think will improve your mental and physical health.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
