It is safe to say that the election of 2016 has been one for the books. Between the shock many experienced when discovering who our next president is, the riots that have broken out in order to protest and even the discussion to do away with the electoral college; this election has proved to be a part of history that those who experienced it won't ever forget.

I am sure by now that many have read at least one article on the presidency, whether is was coming from a Democrat, Republican, Trump fan, a Clinton fan, someone encouraging everyone to vote for the third party or someone who wanted to give their own personal opinion on who they believed should run our country. This article will not be like any of those, but one that will provide light and a little humor on something some have considered an extremely dark time for America. I think it is important to not lose sight of ourselves in this time. Whether you are happy for our current president, disappointed and hurting or if you are one of the very few that don't mind either way, it is important that America does not crumble in our hands. Instead of rioting and bashing one another, we must come together as one no matter the race, ethnicity, gender we are. Here are some of the thoughts that popped into my mind while watching the election of 2016.

1. When is this going to end?

Many years, the election runs late into the night. Waiting for all of the votes to come in is a long process that lasts for a while. But this year, that process was much longer than usual and by the time that midnight rolled around, it was tough for me to keep my eyes open.

2. I wonder if Macaulay Culkin voted for Trump.

I mean he did direct you towards the lobby when you were lost...

3. I am going to get so fat by the time this election is over. What else is there to do besides eat?

I seriously could not stop eating...it was all I wanted to do while sitting and watching the election coverage. Is it possible to gain ten pounds in one night??

4. By the time this election is over, it's going to be time for 2020's election.

I am sure that many can agree with me that this years election seemed to last forever. Almost as if by the time our president was announced it would already be time to vote again.

5. What is taking so long Pennsylvania?

I mean seriously, I waited up all night to find out the outcome of their votes.

6. I wonder what Obama is doing right now.

I am curious to know what Obama was doing as he was watching the election.

7. I also wonder what Trump and Hillary were doing...

8. How are the fans at the headquarters not falling asleep?

I feel you girl...standing for all that time and being tired makes me all sorts of emotional too.

9. I feel like I'm waiting for my grades for my finals to be posted on Blackboard.

You know that anxious feeling you get every semester when you want to know the results of your final exam grades? That was pretty much how I felt through out the night with how close the votes were.

10. I am extremely blessed to live in a country where I have the freedom and privilege to have a say in the election.

11.I wish I was given 20 dollars each time I heard the words "electoral votes."

I'd be pretty rich!

12. How does Trumps watch party have so much energy at three in the morning?!

Ya look a little crazy lady, I think you need some sleep.

13. I wonder what Trumps hair will look like at this time of night.

As notorious Trump is known for his hair, I was highly curious as to how it would look so late into the night.

14. Is Trump going to tell Clinton she is fired?

I mean he told all of his Apprentices they were, so why not tell Hillary?

15.Is Trumps son asleep or awake?

This was the most entertainment I was provided with during the election. Poor kid couldn't even keep his eyes open.

16. Omarosa...

Did anyone else notice Omarosa standing on stage while Trump gave his speech? It's a little shocking due to their past relationship they had on The Apprentice.
