16 Signs You Went To Glenbard West

1. You lived and died for Hitter football.

You also had a natural and undying hatred for WWS when it came to football season.

2. If you were involved in anything you had a sign in your front lawn to prove you were involved with it.

Forensics? Got it. Any sports team? Of course.

3. If you weren’t involved with everything you really didn’t have much of a competitive edge.

You obviously had a job, took four AP classes, were in three clubs, were captain of a sport, and volunteered outside of school, too. And on top of it all, you were in the news for something random at least once.

4. You or one of your friends have a lake house.

Where else would you go after prom?

5. If you had class in The Tower you basically died in the summer months.

The dress code really didn’t apply to you for this reason.

6. You didn’t even try denying your mom was a GEM.

Which made it so easy to dress up like her for senior week. The fact that you even know what GEM stands for is a dead giveaway that you went to West.

7. Junior high half days were spent at the candy store in downtown Glen Ellyn.

You likely got a bagel from Einstein’s and then loitered outside the candy store for a while.

8. Circle Drive dance was one of the biggest events of the year for you.

It was definitely the schools attempt at recreating Perry's for a night.

9. You are very aware of the fact that Lucas was filmed at the school and told people that regularly.

Yes, our high school does look like a castle and, yes, it is better than yours.

10. You knew your graduation was prettier than anyone else’s.

On the field in front of the lake, yeah, you’d like to see any other school top that.

11. The question was always where you were going for spring break, not if you were going somewhere.

And if you did decide to stay in town, you were literally one of three of your friends.

12. You expected a minimum of two days off due to weather, even if it wasn't due to snow.

Snow days were actually the rarest types of days to have off after cold days and flood days.

13. At least 80 percent of what you owned was name brand.

Your winter coat was Northface, your boots were Ugg, your backpack was probably Lululemon, and at least one of your friends drove a convertible.

14. Your late night hangout was Los B’s.

Where else would you get a burrito at midnight?

15. Because of all the AP tests you took senior year, transitioning to college was really never one of your fears.

Naturally, you took at least six AP tests throughout your four years there, and probably started taking them sophomore year.

16. While no one will openly admit they’re going to move back to Glen Ellyn after college -- 80 percent of us will.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
