With the semester winding down and summer approaching quickly, we're all grappling to fill our lives with a little more adventure. Here are 15 ways to be your own adventure in the following months ahead, or even right now.

1. Go on a hike someplace undiscovered by yourself.

Nothing makes you feel more independent, rejuvenated and daring than discovering the natural world around you for yourself.

2. Spend an entire Friday night in by yourself, reading something new.

Because when was the last time you sat down and actually read an entire novel in one night for fun?

3. Start keeping a journal.

Future you will thank you later.

4. Try a new restaurant by yourself.

Sometimes there's nothing more liberating than eating alone and being comfortable doing it.

5. Take a yoga, dance or exercise class on your own.

Use your vitality and energy to dominate at Zumba, yoga or spin.

6. Watch a foreign film.

Even if you can't understand it, that's what subtitles are for. It's romantic to think that you could enjoy something like this all by your lonesome.

7. Start a blog.

Do it for the 'gram, or do it just for you. Whatever you do, just do it.

8. Take up a new hobby: scrapbooking, white water rafting, coding, knitting?

It's never too late to teach yourself something new.

9. Start a photo album.

Fill it with selfies, pictures with your significant other and fun memories with your friends to remind yourself that it's just a bad day, not a bad life.

10. Write a short story.

Nothing is more freeing than losing yourself in a world you've created all on your own.

11. Make a vision board.

To keep your dreams in sync with your current reality.

12. Discover a new band or artist you've never heard of.

It is never too late nor too soon for new music and oftentimes these artists take us on journeys of our own.

13. Pamper yourself.

Stay in and buy a fluffy robe, some trashy magazines and some Ben & Jerry's and then treat yourself to a manicure or pedicure.

14. Go on a late-night drive alone with only the company of the new band/artist in number 12.

Find your own corner of the world to indulge in.

15. Wear something daring and wear it proudly.

Because ultimately, you are your own adventure.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
