Remember the elementary school day when you and your classmates would all pile into the lunchroom like a herd of animals? Then you would sit down at your (probably assigned) lunch tables and pop open your Barbie and Hot Wheels lunch boxes to see what Mom had packed for the day? Good times, right?
If your Mom packed any of the following 15 treats (some of them discontinued, sadly), you were probably the envy of everybody at your lunch table that day. Maybe you can thank these treats for starting your training in the world of trading and gambling.
1. Dunkaroos.
Probably our first real struggle with "not enough dip left for my chips, but if I get more dip I won't have enough chips." Except in this case it was with cookies and icing.
2. GoGurt.
Even though it probably tasted like crap from sitting in your scorching hot cubby all morning, you couldn't imagine a more fun way to eat yogurt. If you were a picky eater, it was probably the only way your mom could get you to eat yogurt.
3. Fruit Gushers.
I remember the first time that I ever ate fruit gushers, I was so scared that my head would turn into a giant fruit (like in the commercial above). I was a strange child, okay?
4. Wonder Ball.
If your school didn't allow candy (mine didn't), then you probably wouldn't have found this in your lunchbox. This was like two candies for the price of one: a chocolate ball filled with little candies. The fact that the candies were shaped like either your favorite Disney princesses or "Toy Story" characters made opening the chocolaty goodness so much better.
5. Fruit by the Foot.
Also can be known as "Expectations: a never ending line of chewy, fruity goodness. Reality: is this thing even a foot long?"
6. Uncrustables.
If you didn't like the crusts on your bread as a kid, then these peanut butter and jelly-filled pouches were your go-to for your lunchbox.
7. Kudo's Bars
Not exactly a candy bar, but you knew deep down that it was a candy bar.
8. Ritz Handi-Snacks.
You immediately became a chef when you whipped one of these out. After all, taking a cracker and carefully coating it with that fake cheesy mush without breaking the cracker took skill.
9. Cosmic Brownies.
And being really upset when you got a batch that barely had any of those little candies on them. I remember that I used to like picking the little candies off of one brownie and then sticking them onto the other brownie.
10. Lunchables.
These high-calorie and high-fat boxes of what they called food were so fun to put together.
