The Olympics. One of very few events that brings the whole world together. It allows an audience of billions to watch athletes represent their nations in the only way they know how. Winning medals is their ultimate goal, but for many Americans watching, it's about coming out on top. Currently, the United States is dominating all around, and I'm sure that it will remain that way for the remainder of their time in Rio.
As we tune in to the events occurring each day, we can't help but show off our American pride. With Michael Phelps proving that none of us are worthy, and Katie Ledecky breaking world records, they encompass the American pride that we all have while our eyes are glued to the screen.
However, for me personally, I can't help but include the many thoughts that come to me while I watch the Games. Yes, I am overwhelmed with pride for my country and the athletes representing it, but there is so much more that is included when viewing the events.
Here are 15 thoughts that have gone through all of our minds while watching the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics:
1.Yes. The Olympics. I am almost 100 percent positive that I am the most dedicated American to watch our nation win.
2. Michael Phelps wouldn’t have anything on me if we were competing for how much we loved the USA. 23 gold medals? Psh, that’s nothing.
3. Katie Ledecky is not human.
4. There she goes again, beating the world record like it’s second nature.
5. Deciding that one, if not all, of the USA Olympic swimmers may or may not be the child that the mermaid gives away in "The Thirteenth Year."

6. Wait, did Michael Phelps get another gold medal?
7. Ugh, yes, gymnastics! The Final Five? More like the Final Six because I am an honorary member and No. 1 fan.
8. I wonder how many hours they spend working out to have those leg muscles?
9. You can see their abs through their leotards. First of all, how? Second of all, can you imagine if they’d let me wear that? The judges would wonder who let a pregnant woman compete.
10. *Watches Simone Biles do a perfect floor routine* If I tried to do that it would look a little something like this:

11. *Watches the USA Women’s Relay Team during the T&F events* How are their itsy bitsy briefs not riding up when they run?
12. Again. The toned bodies of these athletes are unreal.

13. I definitely need to hit the gym more.
14. Usain Bolt. No words.
15. Trying to hold back the tears when you see an athlete’s hard work pay off as they stand on the podium.
