Distance is really hard on any relationship. My best friend and I chose different paths after high school. She joined the military and I went to college. Just because we are in different states doesn’t mean our relationship has depleted at all. Here is a list of 15 things only long distance BFFs will understand:
1. Being each others person
Whenever something important happens or you just need to talk, they are always the first person you think of.
2. That feeling of seeing each other after a few months
There is nothing better that hugging your best friend after not seeing each other for a while. It is simply the best feeling in the world.
3. The goodbyes never get easier
Saying goodbye is the hardest and you never get enough time together.
4. But eventually you fall back into living without them physically there
It hard to pretend your fine without your best friend by your side, but we all cope eventually.
5. Your letter writing gets exceptional
I learned how to get to the point better writing letters to my best friend faster than I ever have in any English class.
6. So does your care package skills
I may or may not be a professional at care packages!
7. How no one understands why you two do what you do
We tend to go off on our own tangents sometimes and everyone around has no idea whats going on.
8. And they never will because you have your own language
We don't really care to include others because we don't get that much time to weird together anyway~
9. How defensive you get when someone else calls them their BFF
It doesn't matter who it is, if someone else calls my best friend their best friend, they are wrong. There is only room enough for one best friend and that is me!
10. You brag about everything they do
You are their biggest fan no matter what.
11. Knowing absolutely everything about people you haven’t met because they are in your BFFs life
In the job description of best friend, you have to know everyone and always keep your eye out.
12. You refer to them as your sibling because they are basically family
You know they are part of the family when your parents send your best friend the same presents they send you because they want to be fair.
13. You save every dime you have to visit them
Every cent you have goes towards a plane ticket...
14. Or you ask your parents for help because you NEED TO SEE THEM
... and when you don't have enough, your parents spot you because they understand your love for each other.
15. Even though the distance is hard, your friendship grows stronger because of it
Finding someone who completely understands you in every way possible is hard to come by. The term ‘best friend’ should not be used lightly. We have many friends in this lifetime, but only one best friend but love doesn’t know what distance is.
