15 Reasons My Parents Are Better Than Yours
Morgan Thayer

I may be biased. I may have spent 20 years years with them. However I am convinced they are the best parents out there and after these reason don't even try to argue with me.

1. They love me unconditionally no matter what

No matter the situation good or bad they will always love me

2. They are totally relationship goals

20 years of marriage, 3 kids and lots of ups and downs yet everyday I see the love they have for each other. The way my mom talks about my dad when he's not around and the things my dad does for my mom on a daily basis melt my heart.

3. They let their light for Jesus shine daily

They let their love for Jesus and his will show in everything they do. The are Godly examples of what a marriage should be, how Christians should act and how to raise Godly children.

4. They are comedians

There is hardly ever a time you will find them being serious. Joking around is how they spend about 95% of their time together. A good balance of roasting each other and flirtation is the key to a solid relationship.

5. They always put their kids before themselves

It could be something as simple as food but if they know one of us children need it they are more than willing to go without so we can have what we need.

6. They're working to teach our future generations

Both of them teach children that will one day grow up to become members of this society. The go to school everyday and walk into their classroom not knowing what to expect, they work 365 days a year on school work and most importantly they teach these children things they will need to know for life, not just for a test or for school but they teach them life lessons.

7. They can dance

Does your dad hit the folks? Does your mom whip and nea nea? Nope didn't think so

8. They raised us right

They raised us three children to have manners, respect, a good work ethic, a love for others and most importantly a love for Jesus Christ

9. They support each other

I have seen my mother sit in freezing cold weather to watch my dad coach football. I have also watched my dad softly kiss my mom on the forehead reassuring her that she did the right thing.

10. They are forgiving

I've been on this earth for 20 years living with them and to say I have made some mistakes is an understatement yet somehow they still forgive me. They forgive me no matter what the situation and let me know everything is gonna be alright.

11. They show us it's ok to make mistakes

My parents do not put up a front. They are open with us kids so that we know that it is ok to make mistakes. They make sure we know that no one is perfect.

12. They are supportive

Football games, baseball games, soccer games, sorority events the list goes on and on. Spending hours at games, being surrounded by sorority girls and staying up late to carpool are just a few of the things they do to show support for what us kids love to do.

13. They push us

They don't expect anything less than the best. They push us in everything we do from school to athletics they want us to be the best we can be

14. They are fun

My parents are a blast. There is never a quiet night at our house. It is always filled with laughter, jokes and chances are you'll hear a game of guess this song going on. They're the types of parents all my friends love and don't mind hanging out with.

15. They're my role models

Since I can remember I have always looked at my parents as role models. They are Godly, fun loving, understanding, caring parents and the relationship I have with them is one like no other. They are always there for me and always will be.

I have seen children resent, hate and have no relationship with their parents. My heart hurts for these people because I know that no matter what I have my parents I can always turn too in time of need, celebration or any occasion in between. I love them unconditionally and always will.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
