14 Things Sleepy People Can Relate To

"I wasn't asleep. I was closing my eyes and visualizing your words."

Some people like to sing, dance, eat–possibly all three–and some people even love to sleep. It’s not that we sleep-lovers never get enough hours of it or that we’re lazy. Our bodies just love sleeping too much! Letting our eyes and the rest of our body rest is one of our favorite things to do. Maybe you might not want to sleep most of the time, but even so, here are a few moments everyone who has ever been tired can relate to:

1. Closing your eyes and pretending to “think” when you’re actually sleeping.

2. Not understanding how others can get out of bed and function well with less than eight hours of sleep.

3. Being late to an event or class from oversleeping.

4. Scrolling through your phone in bed and having the phone fall on your face.

5. Turning down plans because you’d rather sleep instead.

6. If you’re both hungry and tired, you choose sleep over a meal.

7. Because if you choose to eat when you're still tired, you end up falling asleep in the middle of eating.

8. Being the victim in all the asleep-with-an-open-mouth photos.

9. Telling yourself you’d be better at your craft if you didn’t always take so many naps.

10. Looking forward to the end of the day so you can take a nap.

11. Always tending to fall asleep while watching a movie or TV.

12. While some people use exercise or hobbies to cope with emotions, you choose to sleep.

13. You are known to rarely reply back or answer any of your texts and calls because of being asleep.

14. Looking at your bed and being tempted to go to it.

As much as we all love our beds, they can be a dangerous thing–especially for college students. Once you're sucked in, you'll fall asleep and barely get any work done. Be careful!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
