Being fast-paced in a slow-paced world can be a challenge

For as long as I can remember, I was always impatient. As a type A personality, I like to be fast paced, timely, and not wait on others to get where I'm going. While it's a blessing to always be so punctual, it's a curse when my punctuality is threatened by unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately for us impatient people, others don't seem to move as fast as we'd like them to and it can be a total nightmare having to deal with these people. If you're as impatient as I am, you'll relate to these daily struggles just as much as I do!

1. When your friends are running late.

If we have plans and I tell you to be ready at 10 p.m., that means 10 p.m., not 10:01 p.m. I don't want to pull up to your house and then have you tell me to wait five more minutes.

2. People who can't drive.

Blinkers were made for a reason. If you're turning, use your blinker. If you're not turning, don't drive for 10 miles with your blinker on. Thank you.

3. Walking behind slow people.

Ever want to just pick up a slow walker and throw them? Because same. I have places to be and I would like to get there sometime in the near future.

4. Waiting on line.

There's no logical answer as to why this makes me angry because lines are necessary. But it still does.

5. When someone doesn't answer your text right away.

If I sent someone a text I am extending the courtesy of 30 seconds to answer me, any longer than that and I get unreasonably angry. It's called instant messaging for a reason, am I right?

6. Waiting for food.

I'm already naturally impatient. When I'm hungry? It's a new level of hanger that nobody wants to see.

7. Group projects.

Anyone who knows me knows that I want my group projects done the day I get them and I don't want to wait on anyone to do their part. It usually winds up with me willingly doing the entire project.

8. Traffic.

Slow drivers, late breakers, people who cut you off. My impatience really shines through when I'm sitting in traffic raging about road idiots.

9. People who take forever to make decisions.

I don't have time for you to sit around and make a decision. Please just pick a place to eat or a movie to watch in a timely fashion.

10. Needing to read spoilers about a movie, book, or series because you're too impatient to wait until the end.

I can never seem to invest myself in a book or series without knowing what happens at the end. I mean, why would I waste my time on something that has a bad ending?

11. Having to repeat yourself.

I don't have time to repeat myself, nor do I want to. Please just listen when I speak the first time.

12. Sitting in a doctors office.

It doesn't seem to matter how early you show up for your appointment, you always wind up still sitting in the waiting room well after your appointment time.

13. Professors who didn't "get around" to grading your papers.

I "got around" to doing my job and writing your paper. Why can't you "get around" to doing your job and grade it?

14. People who talk too much when you have somewhere to be.

There is nothing I hate more than being late and when people keep talking when you're clearly in a rush, it's the worst. Because who wants to be rude? But, then again, who wants to be late?

To my all my impatient people out there -- at least we can rely on each other to be fast paced and not annoying. As for everyone else, at least we can bond over how annoying their slowness is together!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
