13 Things You Text Your College Friends At Any Point During The Week

We all have that one friend (or friends) we text in college on a daily basis. It may be about something super important or something so dumb only they could possibly understand. In all honesty, college wouldn't be the same without them! Here are some of the many texts that you exchange with them more frequently than not.

1. "Hi, where are we going for dinner?"

It is almost a given on certain nights of the week that you will be each other's dinner date. So there is no need to even ask if you are getting dinner. The question is where.

2. When you're sick: "SOS *inserts problem* is happening to me. Do I go to the health center or just lay here and die?"

Sometimes we just need that extra confirmation from our friends that yes, you should probably go see a doctor and not self-diagnose yourself.

3. When the other person is sick: "I'm coming over with soup, chocolate, tissues and cough drops. Let me in."

When your friends are sick, your instinct is to take care of them. They may say they're okay, but you know that might not always be true.

3. "So this boy..."

You know that every time you have an encounter with a boy you're going to go to them first. You don't respond without their initial consultation, duh!

4. "Can I come over? I need a hug."

Your friends are the closest people you have to a family on campus, so when you're having a bad day, had a bad test, etc., they are the ones you go to for comfort.

5. "Let's go on a diet."

We all have those days when we realize that our college diet consists of pure junk and it's time to cut down. However, these are usually spontaneous moments of inspiration and don't last very long. But nonetheless, you always try to get your friends to diet with you. You cannot say that you have not sent this to your friends at least once in your time at college.

6. "Come work out with me."

Working out can suck on your own, but when you have someone to do it with you, it's not so bad after all!

7. "Did you do the homework. SOS I have 1 attempt left and can't get it right."

Many of the friends I have met in college have been through my classes, so this is a common one for me. They will often be your lifeline in your classes as well as in life!

8. "Walmart run in 10 minutes?"

When in college, you can't always be eating in the dining halls 24/7 because let's face it, we all get sick of it eventually! So Walmart runs with friends are one of the things that happen most (and one of the most coordinated events).

9. "Text me when you get back to your dorm, please."

Chances are that you don't all live in the same dorm building. So when you all hang out together, it can be pretty late when everyone else has to go back to their own dorm rooms! You always watch out for each other and have to make sure everyone gets back safe.

10. "Should I skip this class? I really don't want to go at all..."

There's no one like friends to talk some sense into you and tell you that you pay way too much money in tuition to even think about skipping class (unless you're actually dying). Or, who knows, they might play along and skip with you!

11. "Hi, can we walk to our classes together again?"

Why walk alone to class when you have friends who could do it with you?

12. "Do you have food? I'm hungry."

This seems to be a common one. Sometimes we just don't have enough money on the meal plan for the week, or we're just too lazy to actually leave the room to get food. Chances are that someone has something for you to eat wherever they might be! Perks of texting: all your friends (and their food) is only a text away!

13. "I love you. Thank you for keeping me sane."

When it's all said and done, I personally could not survive college life without my friends. This is a common text I send to my closest friends at college when it hits me how much I really do love them!

Long story short, college friends are what make college what it is. Make sure they know how special they are to you and don't take them for granted! Although the constant texting may come to an end after graduation, the memories never will!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
