Lots of people live in the beautiful town of Park City and there are several distinct things that separate locals from the tourists. As a local, you're most likely outside doing something active and enjoying all the secrets Park City has to offer. Here are 13 reasons you know you're from Park City:

1. Everyone played at least two sports growing up, if not more

As a kid, everyone tried every sport and once middle school and highs school started it became limited to about two. And you probably played varsity in high school for both sports.

2. Instead of regular P.E. in high school, you could get credit for going skiing

Adventure P.E. allowed kids to have the afternoons off to go skiing, as long as you logged your vertical feet and what lifts you took.

3. You know at least one olympian and you're most likely close friends with them

If Utah was competing as its own country in the Sochi Winter Olympics, it would be tied for 10th place in the overall medal count.

4. You've seen more moose than the average person

It's likely that just about every time you go up to the mountain you can spot a moose from a gondola or a chair lift

5. You know how to ski or snowboard or both

Not only do you know how to ski or snowboard but you probably learned around the same time you were learning how to walk

6. The 4th of July on Main Street is one of your favorite holidays

A parade, the sunshine, drinking, fireworks on then golf course and good friends, what more could any local want?

7. You've probably witnessed multiple World Cup Events

Deer Valley hosts World Cups for moguls and aerials each winter and most people bundle up and go witness athletes defy gravity. Plus, you probably know a lot of the U.S. ski team athletes

8. You experienced the 2002 Winter Olympics

The schools gave students time off to enjoy the Olympics, however, you probably know a lot of people who rented out their houses to a foreign country's team and went on a trip

9. Davanza's pizza is your favorite, especially with fry sauce

A high school special was your go to order and back in the day, you didn't have to pay extra for fry sauce

10. You probably are an avid biker, hiker, runner or do yoga

Since you most likely played so many sports growing up, you've shifted to things that are just as athletic but more individual

11. Lake Powell is your favorite lake

You've probably spent a week or so with your friends on the lake living on a houseboat but going tubing and skiing on a ski boat

12. You've seen a ton of Sundance movies for free

When the festival is in town lots of movies play at the high school and teachers took advantage of that by taking you to as many free ones as they could, even if it wasn't relevant to class

13. No matter how far you stray from Park City, you will always find your way back

There's no place like home!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
