World Wrestling Entertainment is known for the wrestlers, the champions, the divas, the tables, ladders, and chairs, the blood, and the beer. However, there are many life lessons to learn from the WWE and the people who wrestle for the company. Here are some of those reasons:
1. Friendships don't always last forever.
Friendships are very important and we all have those moments where there's that one friend who stabs us in the back. For example, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, known by their tag team name, The Rockers, were close friends on camera until something snapped and Shawn hit Marty in the face with the sweet chin music kick.
2. There will be family feuds.
No matter how much a family loves one another, there is always going to be a family feud that you eventually get past. In 2001, there was a storyline called: "The Invasion." The Invasion was a feud between Monday Night Raw and Smackdown of the World Wrestling Federation, Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). This involved Shane and Stephanie McMahon, the children of the owner of WWF, Vince McMahon, buying ECW and WCW to compete with Monday Night Raw and the WWF as a rival company. It was an opportunity for fans to see which promotion was superior and we all know that the WWF came out on top. It just goes to show that it's okay to have a fight with your parents, even if the fight is in the ring at WrestleMania X-Seven.
3. Don't date your coworker.
This is Lita and Matt Hardy, an on-screen and off-screen couple of the WWE. The WWE played into the relationship so much that they made the whole romance a storyline about love, cheating, and careers. Both wrestlers worked together and the relationship didn't last due to the company messing with the romance and making storylines and personal business public. Surprisingly, they are still good friends. However, Lita cost Matt Hardy his job at one point and Matt Hardy screwed Lita over during plenty of wrestling matches. More painful heartbreak than the pain of a steel chair shot!
4. It doesn't matter what people think of you.
In a world full of judgment, you know the real person that you are. So just like The Rock says, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what those jabronis think!
5. There's always something that could go wrong.
No matter how big of a deal one thing is, something is bound to go wrong in the game of life. Edge and Lita were about to be married until Lita's ex-husband, Kane, decided to crash the ceremony... And he tombstone piledrived the preacher!
6. It's okay to hug it out.
Hugs are warm, hugs are nice, but most importantly, hugs make everything better. Especially, when your tag team partner has fire and anger management problems. Good for you, Kane and Daniel Bryan!
7. There will always be sibling rivalries.
Let's face it, one of us has that older or younger sibling that we wish we could be just as good as at something. Real-life brothers, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, had the same problem as an on-screen storyline. Matt was viewed as the more responsible and more experienced brother, and Jeff Hardy was the fan favorite. All it took was a storyline to come up in 2009 after Matt lost his ECW championship and Jeff became the WWE champion. Don't worry, there's plenty of brotherly love in real-life. Just not in the ring as you can see.
8. It's okay to ask for help.
In the WWE, if you want help or protection, you know that these are the guys you need to back you up. The APA will help you out in any way, shape, or form. Just bring some beer and cash as payment.
9. Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself.
To laugh at yourself is to love yourself. DX does just that, as well as get even with people who mock them, such as blow up a limo or dress up as the boss and mock how he talks. If you can't laugh at yourself to enjoy life, then DX has two words for you.
10. Don't be afraid to break the rules when doing the right thing.
We all know that Stone Cold Steve Austin may be a beer-chugging rebel who always breaks the rules of the company, but when things get corrupted by Vince McMahon, Stone Cold is never afraid to do the right thing, even if it involves holding the owner of the company at false gunpoint.
11. It's okay to get emotional.
When that old friend goes away, even The Undertaker has emotions of the departure of a close friend. The Undertaker and Ric Flair go way back and it wouldn't be right if one didn't say goodbye to the other.
12. Someone always has your back.
Family and friends always have your back, and so do the Brothers of Destruction: Kane and The Undertaker. You really do feel the bonds with someone when you choke slam people together against the mat.
13. Never give up.
Never give up. Whether it's to become the mightiest champion in WWE history, or to be turned into memes and be a subject of a prank call, like John Cena, following your heart and staying true to yourself will always get you to where you need to be.
Watching wrestling may be intense, but there are many lessons to learn from watching it. The story lines that put us on the edge of our seats and on the last sip of our beer can really change the way a person views the world. Wrestling teaches more than just fighting moves, it surprisingly teaches us about some factors of life.
