There's nothing more fulfilling than feeling like you have your life together.

Then, just like that, you start college and you come to understand just how much you don't have your life together. You start sleeping past your alarm. You find out about a big test in class the day it's given. You hardly get any sleep trying to complete an assignment that should have only taken an hour but has taken the entire night. But that's all okay. It happens in college. To be honest, no one really knows what they're doing and everyone is simply faking it until they make it. On that note, here are 12 ways to look like you have your life together in college.

1. Always have a cup of coffee in hand

It makes you look like you have time to enjoy a nice cup of coffee even though you really don't.

2. Highlight all over your textbook

It makes others think that you took time to understand the assigned readings instead of skimming through them like you most likely did.

3. Keep an agenda with you at all times

It gives you the chance to make yourself look busier than you are.

4. Always talk about your new diet

Even if the diet is eating a tub of ice cream a night, no one needs to know that your diet is unhealthy.

5. Ask questions in class, even if you already know the answers

Even if you already know the answers to the questions you're asking, it makes you look as though you've really thought about the lesson at hand.

6. Or talk to the teacher after class

It shows that you are generally interested in the topic and getting a good grade, even if you're only really interested with the latter.

7. Go to the library

The act of going to the library shows that you at least try to understand what the hell is going on in your classes.

8. Constantly have a textbook in your hand

While always having a textbook with you might have made you seem like a nerd in high school, in college it makes you look like you have your life together.

9. Always walk to class with headphones on

This makes you look as though you can't have anything to do with the muggles out there.

10. Bring your computer with you everywhere

It gives you a chance to do homework anywhere, or it gives you the chance to check social media on a larger device.

11. Wear glasses

For some strange reason, wearing glasses makes you look as though all you do is read books for fun and study.

12. Then let yourself go

And once you've spent the day pretending like you have it all together, you can go home and finally relax and realize you really have no idea what you're doing with your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
