I know everyone loses their minds over the holiday season, everyone seems to be obsessing over Christmas more this year than ever. Here are 12 reasons December is the best month ever, for all of you not crazy Christmassy people.

1. CHRISTMAS...obviously

You can all pretend you don't know what I'm talking about, but Christmas is the best part of December. You get presents galore, you get to celebrate Jesus's life, and spend the day around a Christmas tree, both holly & jolly.

2. Snow days

I mean... who didn't wake up every morning of December running to the tv to see if you had a 2-Hr delay or a snow day? I know I sure did, I lived for the days I could spend cuddled up on the couch after the hours spent playing in the snow.

3. Winter activities

Usually in December you're still not over the snow yet so you're all about winter activities. Skiing, snowmobiling, sledding and ice skating are all fun activities to do while enjoying the beautiful white snow.

4. Starbucks red cups

I know I get all geeked out when its "Starbucks Red Cup Season" nothing puts me in the holiday spirits quite like my favorite coffee in a red cup. Despite the controversy the red cups have caused, they always put me in the Christmas spirit.

5. Christmas movies

I love December because its more acceptable to watch Christmas movies (like I don't do it all year anyways) but I love the Hallmark channel, and the 25 days of Christmas. There is nothing better than the classic Christmas movies, a fuzzy blanket, and a plate of cookies.

6. Cookie baking

My favorite December traditions are all the cookie baking my family does. For some reason, a Christmas cookie tastes so much better than any cookie baked any other time of year. It is one of my favorite things to gift people bags of homemade cookies!

7. Christmas lights

There is just something about a ball of tangled up lights that just puts me in the spirit. The beginning of December is just start of the beautiful lights that cover the trees and can be seen in people's windows.

8. Family time

There is nothing better than all of the time you get to spend with your loved ones. December is always full of family time, laughs, and usually competitive activities. Thoughts of December just brings up memories of fun times with the people I love the most.

9. Holiday shopping

My favorite thing about December and Christmas is giving gifts, so that means shopping! I love the holiday spirit at the mall, the hustle and bustle of everyone getting gifts for others, and the giving spirit that goes along with it.

10. The spirit of giving

The month of December seems to get everyone into the giving mood. The Salvation Army buckets, the soup kitchens, Toys-for-Tots, and the drives to help get presents for the less fortunate. Sometimes these are the things you need to bring the reason for the season.

11. Ugly sweater parties

Nothing says December is among us quite like Ugly Sweater party invites being sent. There is nothing like putting on the ugliest sweater you can find and enjoying the holiday season with your friends.

12. You're close to a fresh start

The best part about December is that you're only a few weeks away from a fresh start. You get a new day one to actually succeed with resolutions you haven't ever be able to accomplish. The new year means you finally get to start over and be whatever you want to be... especially happy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
