Short girls are any girl that falls at 5'4 or shorter, and there are a lot of issues associated with being a short girl, from shopping for clothes to retrieving something from the top shelf.

1. That moment your doctor tells you you're finished growing.

I believe I finished growing in middle school, so everyone had growth spurts in high school while I was still at my middle school height.

2. Shopping for any clothes is the ultimate struggle.

3. Being used as an arm rest by most of your friends.

Almost every day I get used as an armrest and everyone thinks it is comical. Newsflash: it's not.

4. The thing you need is always on the top shelf.

Almost every item I need ends up being on the top shelf.

5. Hardly being able to stand in the 5-foot section of the pool.

I can hardly stand in this area unless I'm on my tippy toes.

6. Looking like a 12-year-old when you're 18.

"How old are you? Are you old enough to be doing that? Where are your parents?" I'M AN ADULT.

7. When you stand up without shoes and one of your friends says, "Oh my god you're short."

8. The sun visor in the car does nothing unless you're really close to it or you can adjust the seat to rise.

I request sun visors that are useful to people under 5'7.

9. Being lifted when you get hugs.

10. Having to hang over a top load washer to reach the articles in the bottom.

This is a struggle because it isn't hard to put stuff in to the washer, it's just hard to get stuff out.

11. When a taller person sits in front of you at a movie theatre.

12. People try to squat a little bit to be your height.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
