12 Things All Former Cheerleaders Know To Be True

Chances are if you were ever a cheerleader before college, may it be sideline, competition, or both, your heart still lies in the last place you performed. Being a cheerleader is something that will always hold a place in your heart. One does not easily get over the thrill of performing or the love you have for your team. You will always remember the first time your stunt group hit the crazy, new pyramid on the first try or the time you cheered your high school football team on to a state championship. Speaking from experience, here is a list of all the things former cheerleaders know to be true.

1. When you go to your college's football or basketball games you find yourself watching the cheerleaders more than the actual game.

Let's face it, sometimes they're more exciting than the game itself. Plus you actually know what's going on with them whereas you may be completely lost in the game.

2. However, if you are watching the cheerleaders chances are you are finding yourself wishing you were one of them.

Maybe you tried out for your college team or maybe you didn't have the tumbling skills necessary to make the team so you spared yourself the rejection. But there is no denying you feel a pang of jealousy when you watch the girls on the field.

3. You find yourself still doing cheer claps when you clap along to the school song.

And you will probably never clap "normally" again.

4. At sporting events you're constantly telling your friends about the stunts you did when you were a cheerleader when you see the team do a similar one.

You're also probably saying how your old team could do that stunt. Your non-cheer friends are probably silently begging you to shut-up.

5. Half of your Throwback Thursday Instagram pictures are from your former cheer glory days.

Don't feel shame girl, we all do it.

6. You still watch YouTube videos of your old competition performances.

You've slowed down to only watching them once a month, but you still do it.

7. That being said you watch every cheer video you see that pops up on your Twitter timeline.

Of course you have to like and retweet it too.

8. If your high school cheer team has a Facebook group you're probably still apart of it.

Just watching everything they do and wondering if they miss you. The day you leave this page will be the day Facebook dies.

9. You talk about having reunion with your old team all the time.

You guys might not be as good as you used to be, but maybe you could still throw up a pretty solid stunt.

10. When you visit home on the weekends you might find yourself at your old high school watching your old team.

You just needed to see how they were doing without you.

11. In the summers you may stop by and help your old coaches whip the new girls into shape.

"Coach make them do it full out again we ALWAYS had to do it full out!"

12. You pray that your future children will want to be cheerleaders.

You need someone to live vicariously through!

Cheerleading has made you the amazing and fun person you are today. You probably owe your life to the sport. The memories you made on those mats will last a lifetime. Chances are you have cheerleading to thank for giving you so many close friends. Though you would give anything to get one more Friday night under the lights, it is time to blow a parting kiss to the sport that made you, you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
