Let's face it. We've been sick of winter since it started. The cold, the snow and the icy wind just don't cut it compared to the warm sun and fresh air in the spring and summer. The past few days have been 50 to 60 degrees, and spring fever has set in. If you're like me, you want to soak in all the sun you can get before the next snowstorm hits, close your eyes and pretend it's spring already. So here are some ways to pretend when you just can't take the cold anymore.
1. Roll down the windows in the car.
Riding with the windows down is a great way to get fresh air, even if the wind makes it feel like it's 40 degrees.
2. Listen to country music.
Preferably Zac Brown Band. Close your eyes and let the music take you to the beach. This can also be paired with rolling down the windows in your car. Keep your eyes open for that though.
3. Eat ice cream.
There's nothing like a freezing cold cone when it's freezing outside.
4. Put on shorts.
It'll do your legs some good to see the sun, and the cold with toughen them up.
5. Go to the beach.
You can go to the beach year round, and even though the water isn't swim-able, it still cures the need for sun and salt water. If you're feeling rebellious, you could jump in the 45-degree water.
6. Go for a run.
Get yourself out of the stuffy gym and breathe in the fresh air.
7. Tan outside on your lawn.
This one might be difficult, so maybe just don't wear a bathing suit?
8. Drink an iced coffee.
We do that year round anyways, but it helps.
9. Stay out late.
There's nothing better than staying outside late on a summer night. For now, stay bundled up, because the temperatures are still dropping.
10. Wear flip flops.
Let your feet go free. They're been stuck in smelly shoes all winter and need to be aired out.
11. Have a fire.
This is the only suggestion that's actually a good idea in the winter.
