Being an off season athlete is the most bizarre and rewarding time. Every athlete goes through these same things when their season is over.
1. Wow, what am I supposed to do now?
No games? No practices? This is going to take some getting used to.
2. So this is what it feels like to have free time.
I actually have time to...relax?
3. I guess I should probably change my diet a little bit.
Now that I don't have practice every day I actually have to eat healthy if I don't want to gain a ton of weight.
4. I really miss my teammates
How am I supposed to go days at a time without seeing all of them?
5. Next season is going to be so great!
We are going to win all of our games, set school records and probably end up in the Olympics!
6. I actually miss having practice every day
I would probably even run extra sprints just to get back into regularly practicing with the team.
7. Wow, I'm out of shape
Just kidding, I wouldn't do extra sprints because my body seems to have forgotten how to run.
8. I'm definitely going to be in perfect shape for next season.
I had my time to be lazy, but now I have to start getting ready for next year!
9. "Who wants to go to the gym with me just to hit / throw / pass around for a bit?"
I think I might lose my mind if I don't get back into it soon.
10. At least I have another season to look forward to.
At least I'm not one of the seniors who doesn't even have next season to look forward to.
