11 Reasons Why I Am Passionately In Love With Fall

We all know and love fall, but here's a list of reasons why!

As of September 22nd, 2016, it is finally fall! The season that we've all been waiting for ever since we threw out last year's jack-o-lanterns and retired all of the Halloween decorations from last year. Although Starbucks may have rolled out the pumpkin spice lattes a few weeks early, we all know that you can't pull out your Ugg boots until the official first day of fall. In honor of everyone's favorite time of the year, here is a short list of some of my favorite elements of the season.

1. Pumpkins.... Pumpkins Everywhere!

Whether you're going to a pumpkin patch with your significant other or picking up a pumpkin from the local grocery store, I think we can all agree that pumpkins on every doorstep are an essential part of the perfect fall season. Pro tip: If you live in a college dorm, don't stick a pumpkin outside in the hallway because some poor innocent soul is likely to throw up inside of it in the middle of the night.

2. Fall flavors at Starbucks!

If you're a high school to college aged girl, you know you've had a random craving for a pumpkin spice latte at some point after the weather has turned cold. In my opinion, they're pretty overrated but I do order one every fall because who doesn't want to walk around with the ever-so trendy PSL? PSL for life.

3. Doggy Halloween Costumes

Most people adore watching small children dressed up as clowns and zombies for Halloween, but if you're like me then you're more interested in what dogs are wearing. I mean, who doesn't love a corgi dressed up like a banana? I would give them all of the pats.

4. Chili for those chilly days!

While chili can be eaten at any point during the year, I always find that it tastes the best during the fall. Something about coming home from a cold day at school to a giant pot of chili with a little shredded cheese on top and a few oyster crackers. If you're ever in need of a quick pot of chili, pinterest has an endless supply of recipes!

5. Uggs for days!

Fortunately for us all, every fall we are blessed to see a pair of Uggs on the pair of every middle-to-upper class girl in the U.S. If you're not drinking a PSL while wearing a very stylish pair of Uggs, are you even experiencing fall?

6. Fire!

It's not really fall until that hint of woody smoke hits the air. If Yankee made candles out of this scent there's a good chance that I would purchase each and every one of them.

7. Virgo Season!

Happy belated and early birthday to all of my fellow fall babies! Unlike people who are born during the summer and late spring, we get the benefit of being able to celebrate our birthday's during the school year!

8. A is for Apples!

Apple picking. Apple cider. Apple crisps.

9. Halloween Movies!

We all know that we're just waiting to break out those giant bowls of popcorn and those fuzzy, animal-print onesies!

10. No more Billboard 100's Summer Tunes!

I know I can't be the only person who is tired of the local pop station by the time fall rolls around. I love the Top 100 hits as much as the next person, but you can only sing along with Justin Bieber, G-Eazy and Rihanna so many times before you consider listening to the folk station just so you don't have to hear another pop song.

11. Thanksgiving!

My all time favorite part of fall, ever since I became a college student, is Thanksgiving. I love traveling back home to Georgia and being surrounded by everyone that I love and care about. As great as lattes and cute boots are, nothing compares to the feeling of being at home with your family.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
