11 Moments You've Had If You Are On Leadership At Liberty University

Student Leadership is taken very seriously at Liberty University. RAs, RSs and CGLs (lovingly called seagulls) take good care of each other and the people on their hall. If you are on leadership at Liberty, you probably have experienced some of these moments.

1. Moving in thousands of Freshman and Transfer students.

But honestly, its the best couple of days of our lives.

2. The relationship between CGLs, RSs and RAs is an unbreakable bond.

Imagine a Christian version of Mean Girls. On Wednesdays we wear our mission trip t-shirts. She doesn't even go here (but we are going to love her to Christ regardless). Get in loser, we are going to a worship concert.

3. RHLM is one of best times of your week.

Personally, I love RHLM. When the big four is pumped about a hall event, it sets a great tone of energy for the whole team. Also, working alongside 15 passionate Christ followers who are also some of your best friends is the most amazing thing I've ever been apart of.

4. Being so relieved that being on leadership still counts as CSER.

Don't get me wrong, I am not on leadership for the CSER credit. But I think everyone was a little nervous with all the changes unrolling last semester that being a CGL wasn't going to count towards CSER.

5. Getting excited about your Community Group being finalized.

The days surrounding final groups being announced slightly felt like recruitment week for a sorority. But once you find out who your group is, it's like Christmas in September.

6. Talking to people in your Community Group until morning hours.

Pouring into someone and getting poured into is beautiful, but seriously, I have an 8:15 in four hours. Love you, but lets get lunch tomorrow.

7. When it's 20 minutes until Community Groups and the Campus Community App isn't updated.

The LUShepherd office is great and have been doing a really good job of updating the app this year. Nothing is more nerve wracking than waiting for the content to get uploaded.

8. When you really feel like the Lord has something for you to say to your group and they aren't totally focused.

"Just give me three more minutes! Please!"

9. When Campus Community is on point and you can't wait to get to groups.

LETS TALK ABOUT GALATIANS

10. Getting lit for hall meeting.

Who has snacks?

11. Watching someone grow in their relationship with the Lord like:

God is good.

All in all, leadership at Liberty is such a great opportunity to care for others and to grow in your walk with the Lord. I personally love being a CGL and making the girls on the hall feel welcome. Creating and upholding a community on a large college campus is so vital to making sure no one falls through the cracks. We aren't meant to do this life alone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
