Is anyone else stuck in an endless relationship with binge-watching shows on Netflix? I'll set out to just watch one episode of a show and suddenly be stuck on Netflix for three hours. However, I'm trying to cut down on how much time I spend on Netflix because while a little Netflix time is okay, spending hours upon hours watching Netflix really is the biggest waste of time. It doesn't accomplish anything and afterwards, I usually just feel like a bum. Today, I've rounded up 11 ideas for myself as well as you guys for things to do OTHER than watch Netflix.
1. Take a walk outside and appreciate your surroundings.
As they say, take a chance to smell the roses!
2. Hit the gym.
When you work out, your body releases endorphins which triggers a state of happiness. You'll feel much better after a good work-out than a five-hour long Netflix binge-watch.
3. Write a friend or significant other a letter or send them a postcard.
Snail mail is underrated; take the time to write a friend or significant other that doesn't live where you are a letter or mail them a postcard. This is a great way for you to harness your creativity and show your loved ones how much you care.
4. Paint your nails.
Because who doesn't feel better with a fresh coat of nail polish?
5. Read a good book.
Sometimes it's nice to take a break from reality but without just mindlessly watching episode after episode of television shows on Netflix.
6. Take a yoga class.
Calm your nerves down with a relaxing session of yoga.
7. Start a blog.
Channel your creativity and develop a platform to express your ideas and share those ideas with others.
8. Take a relaxing bath or shower.
Take your time and let the water wash away your worries.
9. Pamper yourself with a face mask or other at-home-spa treatment.
Words can't even describe how much better I feel about myself after a little at-home pampering.
10. Volunteer.
Give back to your community and feel a whole lot better afterwards in comparison to after a Netflix binge.
11. Cook a meal for yourself.
Whip up your favorite dish and be proud that you're developing your cooking skills.
