Having an awesome roommate that you love is better than just another best friend, its like having a sister that you adore.

The real homie is the roommate who is your best friend and who you love being around! The ability to share things with someone and to have a girl to depend on and be your homegirl is always awesome, but when that someone is your roommate- life gets even better! When something goes wrong and your roommate is the first person you wanna text, you know you are rooming with your best friend! Do you have the best roommate ever?

If so, I'd say you're way luckier than most college kids! Boy am I lucky!

1. Sharing everything

You have the best roommate ever when you can share everything from hair dryers to hand bags! Who doesn't wanna live with someone that you can not only share all your clothes with, but share your secrets with!

2. Girl talk before bed

Being able to lay in bed and talk for hours is great until you realize you should be asleep because you have class tomorrow am!

3. Making each others beds

Sometimes making your bed just isn't going to happen that morning and its just a rough day- but what a better way to make someones day by making their bed!

4. Always sending goodnight texts if you won't see each other before bed

Receiving a goodnight text from your roommate if you aren't home is seriously one of the best feelings! Its like having a mom who checks in on you, but in the same way its a sister who misses you!

5. Getting ready together

Even though sharing a bathroom was never easy with my little sister, it is so fun to share a living space with someone you enjoy being around and getting ready with in the mornings! Granted it may take you longer because you get side tracked chatting but it is way more fun!

6. Doing each others hair before school

What is better than helping each other do hair on the first day of school? If you're a girl you totally understand the inability to straighten the back of your hair and not look like a 6th grader do it-- thats why you need a roommate who will help you!

7. Compatible living

8. Coming home to a hug

There is nothing worse than having a rough day and coming home to sit alone. Thankfully, if you have the best roommate every there is always someone waiting for you with a hug and some lovely advice.

9. Outfit approval

"does this look good?" "okay help!! Which outfit?" When you love your roommate, you constantly have someone to ask which outfit looks better, and which shirt you should wear.

10. After a weekend apart you miss each other

Theres nothing like coming home to someone who makes you laugh and who will sit and listen to you talk for hours! A weekend apart is just too much with how busy everyone gets during the week!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
