Going out with friends is a fun, carefree part of life... or at least it should be. For some, the thought of getting ready is both physically and emotionally exhausting. Trying on outfit after outfit only to be disappointed by the outcome. For these people, the process of getting ready usually comes with a handful of different stages.
1. The Planning Stage
Whether it be in your own head or while chatting with friends, you always plan your outfits before you go out using the imaginary closet you've created in your head.
2. The Trying On Stage
You dig through your closet and look at every possible outfit option you own. You try them all on but none of them seem good enough to go out in tonight... and the struggle begins.
3. The Opinion Stage
You start calling/texting your friends; you need their opinions on your outfit. Whether it be through text messages asking whether they're wearing pants or dress, or on FaceTime showing them every outfit that you might possibly wear out you need a second opinion on this.
4. The Self-Approval Stage
During this stage you finally have decided on an outfit. You have found something that is suitable for the event and are ready to start doing your hair and make up to compliment your fabulous look tonight.
5. The Second Guessing Stage
Re-deciding your outfit... you thought you had it all figured out but it just wasn't good enough. You once again call, FaceTime, and text your friends asking if you should change your outfit and seeing what they are wearing because they most likely have changed… Again.
6. The Going Out Stage
The homestretch. It's finally done. It has been a long process but you made it. Your outfit it on point as well as your hair and make up. You might not even like what you're wearing, but your friends reassure you that you look HOT, and you'll be okay as long as you get a cute enough pic to Instagram.
Some people take a lot of pride in their appearance and love to get ready; picking out their outfits as well as doing their hair and makeup to match. They always want to be fashion forward and look their absolute best. For people like this, getting ready is not just a process but a ritual. Each step must be followed carefully and precisely, otherwise leaving the house is simply is not an option.
