Move In Day Told By Gifs

One of the best, yet most stressful days of summer.

For most college students, move in day is an exciting time. Move in day means that your friends are only steps away and freedom awaits. The only problem is move in means you have to pack and, as we all know, packing is a chore.

Prior to Move in Day:

1. Just thinking about packing is a drag.

2. You start packing and think, "Hey, this isn’t so bad."

3. You run out of suitcases and bags to pack your belongings.

4. You realize you don’t need half of the things you packed, so you begin to unpack.

5. Then you find you unpacked everything, so you begin packing again.

6. You text the roommate group chat and tell them how annoying it is to pack.

7. Of course there is always the one person that is completely packed and has been for a month.

8. Then you tell everyone how much you miss them and you can’t wait to see them.

Move in Day:

1. You’re torn— you want to get out of bed to go to school, but at the same time, you know this is the last time you’ll be in your bed at home for a few months.

2. You pack the items you couldn’t pack the night before.

3. Then you realize how much you forgot, so you’re running around trying to find and remember everything.

4. Your parents start yelling at you because they have been telling you to pack for weeks, and of course you didn’t listen.

5. Finally, you get everything together and pack the car.

6. You find your car isn’t as big as you thought.

7. You start picking and choosing what you can do without until parents’ weekend.

8. Once you finish packing the car, you’re off to school!

9. You get to school and there’s a long wait at Res Life to get your key.

10. You text your roommates to find out if they are on campus yet.

11. Of course in the meantime you have to take the obligatory Snapchat with the hashtag “#backoncampus.”

12. You get your key and head to your room, so you can, once again, unpack.

13. As you walk to your room, you pass multiple people that you know, and your mom continuously asks, “Who are they?”

14. You walk in and your roommates are all there, so it’s one big reunion.

15. After multiple trips to unload the car, now it’s time to organize your space for the next nine months.

16. Your parents help you unpack and get everything set up.

17. Then it’s time to say goodbye to your parents for the next few months.

18. But first, a family picture in your new dorm room.

19. After your parents leave, you come back and take another obligatory Snapchat with “#roomies #reunited.”

20. You text everyone else that you’re back on campus and the party is in your room!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
