Studying is a chore few people enjoy, but everyone must do. It takes time to do, and most of all it takes time to start. There's so much to do to prepare for studying. It's a checklist in and of itself. Read this, and see if you're guilty of one or more of the following statements. Before studying, do you:
1. Get coffee
However you can. Order it, or make it for yourself. Lord knows you can't study without this!
2. Set up workspace
Perfectly. Everything in line, and in place. Laptop out, books open, perfect setting to...
3. Find the perfect playlist.
Perfect music = perfect studying, am I right?
4. Scroll Facebook
There is no rhyme or reason to this. You don't have any notifications, but you do it anyways. Why not watch another mouth watering video?
5. Open calendar/planner
You need to focus! Visualize everything you have due in the next week. Heck, tomorrow.
6. Check Snapchat
"These filters are so cute." OP, better snap that I'm studying. After all, if I didn't snap about it, did it really happen? This is the start to the 20 minute social media break you're about to go on.
7. Check Instagram
Anything new? Ok, good. Moving on! Wait, who's that girl... *cue stalk mode*
8. Get on Twitter
Something motivational or hilarious is bound to be on there.
9. Read an Odyssey article
"OMG, this is so what I'm feeling right now!"
10. Actually start homework
You start to feel guilty of all the time you just wasted doing nothing, so you decide to get a move on.
Here's to the over packers, the perfectionists, and the try hards, may we actually start what we intended to do: homework.
