1. Buy a Planner.
First things first. If you want to have your act together this school year buy a planner. Buy one that you really love. If you like blue get it in blue, if leather is your style do that! Just get one!
2. Buy fun colored Markers to use with your planner.
Now that you have your planner, use it! If you don't use it you just wasted money, which as a college student we all know it's a sin to waste money. Buy some markers in fun colors or a cool pen. Something that you know you'll like to write with (I am addicted to Sharpie Pens). Go through and write your syllabi into your planner, then keep checking it. Daily.
3. Make lists and stick to them.
If the planner isn't really your style (or if it is) this may be a better option. Get some paper or stationary for list making. Look at your day and prioritize what needs to get done at that day and out those at the top. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment as you cross things off of your list and you won't get overwhelmed by looking at a whole week or month at once.
4. Talk to the people who support you.
If you're in college, you more than likely have a support system. There is nothing more important than talking about when you get bogged down with work and expectations. They love you and support you, they'll know what to say to help you keep your head above water.
5. Listen to some music.
I don't care what anyone else says, music can cure anything. Whether you've just failed a test or simply woke up late for a class, some music later in your day can make a world of difference. A little rock out dancing and some killer music and you'll be ready to face whatever is next.
6. Yoga... Or exercise in general.
Yoga is something new for me, but I'm finding that it gives you some great balance, literally and figuratively. But seriously, exercise can help you get out of your own stressed head in so many ways. Go for a walk, go to the gym, just move. You can always afford a 30 minute break in your day to move your body.
7. Nap if you need it.
Be honest; when's the last time you feel like you had a full night of rest? It's probably been a while if you're a college student. That's okay! But naps are okay too! Give yourself anything from 30 minutes to an hour of sleep time if you need it and your body will thank you. You will be more awake and more prepared to take on your day.
8. Eat healthy.
Say it with me; "salads can be yummy". The cafeteria will offer you greasy yummy options, as well as healthy options and it's up to you to choice what you want to eat. As awesome as this is, you need to control yourself. Your skin will thank you and again you'll be more awake. Water and vitamins are also staples, because who wants to be sick at college? No one, that's who.
9. Hang out with your friends at school.
It's easy to feel like you have no time for anything besides school work. Do not let yourself get into that kind of cycle. You have time to go eat with your friends. You have time for Walmart runs. Hang out with your friends and enjoy college. (Reminder: if your to-do list is too long it's okay to stay in a night and if your wallet is crying at the idea of going out it is also okay to stay in a night.)
10. Count on your faith.
