10 Things I'll Miss About Home When Break Is Over

We all know you're going to miss something.

It's about that time to head back to college after a month long break. Part of me is very glad to be going back to school, starting new classes, and getting back into a set routine again. But of course, there are a few very important things that I am going to miss about being home.

1. My Parents

Now I know what you are thinking: Parents? Why? As a college student, I have learned to really appreciate my parents and all that they do for me. I love being home and getting advice from them, sharing stories, and just spending quality time with the people who raised me.

2. Driving Around

I LOVE driving, even if I have no place to go. However, I do not have a car of my own, so when I am back at school, I have to rely on others to drive me places. I love being home so that I can just take my mom's car and go places.

3. Rest And Relaxation

Oh, freedom. No papers to write, tests to study for, or assignments to complete. Just me, myself, and my Netflix account. It will surely be missed.

4. Home Friends

I love coming home and catching up with the friends I have known for years. It's so lovely to have friends you can be with and feel like it's old times no matter how long it has been.

5. Home Church

There is just something about worshiping our Almighty God with thousands of other people. Some people are against mega churches, but I love it so much.

6. My Cat

Bella is a pro snuggler, loud talker, awesome napping companion, and the queen of the house.

7. Worry-Free Lifestyle

After a stressful, worry-filled semester, it was so great to sit at home and really not have a worry in the world.

8. My Bed

There's nothing like your own bed at home, no matter how comfy your dorm room bed may be.

9. Having my room to myself

I have nothing against my roommate, but being an only child, making that transition back into living with someone again can be tricky. I will miss my time to myself, but it will be nice to have someone to talk to!

10. T I M E

Time is so restricting. Due dates. 8 a.m.'s. Meetings. Work. Going to bed at a decent time. At home, I feel free because I do not have as many meetings and responsibilities to attend and keep track of.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
