With school starting up for most people, it is really important to take time for yourselves. It is essential that you take time out of your busy schedules to relax.

1. Make a to do list.

Making a to do list is very important so you can complete everything you have to do, in an orderly fashion. This is very important because it will not cause stress, you will be able do everything. Also, it is totally satisfying to cross everything off your list.

2. Plan out your outfit the night before.

It is essential to do this because it gives you so much more time in the morning. Rather than rushing around trying to find something to wear you can have a much more relaxing morning.

3. Take breaks while doing homework.

If you are doing a lot of homework in one sitting it is better for your brain to take breaks. You will produce greater work because if you are staring at the same thing for an extended period of time you tend not to focus as much.

4. Listen to study music.

There are so many playlists on Spotify, just look up study music and you will not be disappointed. They are calming and they help you focus. Everybody loves to listen to music, however if it is your favorite song you might focus on that more that your work.

5. Drink lots of water.

It is really easy to forget to drink lots of water when you are cramming. Staying hydrated is one of the most important things to remember. It will help you stay healthy, and will help you preform better on tests/ in school in general.

6. Eat healthy snacks.

Not everybody has time for a full meal when they are up to their eyeballs in work. It is super important to remember to eat when you are having a long study sesh. Also do not eat junk food because that will make you tired and irritable.

7. Wash your face.

It is very easy to forget about your skin when you are stressed out at school. Washing your face and taking time to do a mask or something pampering will make all the difference. It will relax you more and it will also help your skin.

8. Plan ahead.

If you know that you have a big test or have plans after school, plan ahead. You will be able to spread your work out rather than cramming all of your activities in one day. Do some homework in lunch, or in the car ride to your activities.

9. Go to bed early.

Although sometimes everyone needs an all nighter to finish their work it is so important to try and go to bed early. You will do so much better and feel so much better with a great nights sleep.

10. Take a day off.

Although this seems like it is very hard if you can it is one of the best things ever. Every weekend try to get all your homework done before Sunday, so you can spend the whole day relaxing. This will make you feel so much better and it will help you prep for the long week ahead.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
