Since the 13th of March, my boyfriend has talked about one thing: the NCAA Tournament. I don't even need to watch the games, because he insists on giving me a play-by-play every time (even though I never ask for it). Personally, I do enjoy keeping up with the tournament because I think it's pretty exciting. But if I have to listen to my boyfriend talk about one more bad call, half-court shot, or bracket-busting upset, I might just set myself on fire. Here are just a few things my boyfriend does during March Madness:
1. Checks his bracket every five minutes, even though he knows every single one of his picks and his friends' picks.
But who knows, somebody could have hacked into the NCAA's website and changed everyone's brackets. That's super likely.
2. Gets pissed when my bracket is doing better than his.
Wow, that must be super embarrassing.
3. Continuously tweets about the games, even though everyone already knows what happened.
I don't remember anyone asking for live updates, but thanks anyway babe.
4. Screams at the TV like the players can actually hear him.
Awesome, now I'm deaf.
5. Comments on what a player should have done when something goes wrong.
Because he obviously could get out on the court and do better than all the D1 athletes.
6. Thinks that I have the IQ of a preschooler when it comes to basketball.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm far from an expert on college basketball. However, I usually have a pretty good idea of what's going on, and I definitely don't need an explanation of every single play.
7. Pays absolutely no attention to me.
Unless I stand in front of the TV, that is.
8. Goes on 10-minute rants about why a call was wrong.
I'm talking about an argument that includes an introduction, thesis statement, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
9. Gets mad at me when I say one of the players is hot.
Sorry but I gotta be honest here, some of those guys are quite attractive.
10. Insists that March is the best time of the year.
Really, you're ranking it above summer break, Thanksgiving, and the birth of Jesus Christ?
