Have you ever met a Hispanic mom before or currently have one right now? Do you ever wonder why your Spanish friends get frightened after sneaking out during late nights? If you want to know the every day life of living with a Spanish mom, here's 10 signs you probably want to know...

1. You're screwed, when your mom hears what you did last night...

As soon your mom hears what you did and the secret gets out, you know your life is going to be trouble when you get back home. Watch out, Spanish moms don't spare much mercy and teach discipline in an interesting manner, which brings up my next point..

2.Their main weapons: The death face and the chancla.

All moms have this weapon called the chancla. They have precision aim and are not afraid to use it, to teach some discipline. Usually this happens once you have gotten her on her last nerves and you need some sense knocked into you.

3. Our moms are MAJOR CLEAN FREAKS

And will you call you out on your mess, especially when you have company coming over!!

4. You hand over the remote a lot.

Doesn't matter the distance just do it, she needs to watch her novelas.

5. You get HOOKED ON WATCHING NOVELAS on Telemundo or Univision!

After a long day at work, most moms would turn on the t.v. and watch their favorite dramatic soap operas or novelas. You already know every possible outcome that can happen but somehow you just get ADDICTED!

6. You know the theme song to Caso Cerrado when it's on and you pretend to slam the gavel like Dr. Maria Ana Polo.

U.S.A. has Judge Judy, well we have Dr. Maria Ana Polo. Caso Cerrado is a court show filled with unpredictable court cases you may not have heard of. From entrainment to fist fighting, this show has it all!

7. Every Saturday night was Sabado Gigante night!

Sabado Gigante was a classic family show to gather around on Saturday nights. The show has been around since the early 1960's and the host Don Francisco remains an iconic figure up to today. In his show he would interview famous celebrities, do comedy segments, and let audiences get the opportunity to win grand prizes.

8. She uses Adobo seasoning on every food she prepares.

If you ever visit a Spanish household, and want to know one of the main ingredients to food you just ate, buy some Goya products at the marketplace. It adds that delicious flavor you longed for.

9. She tells you to put on Vicks when your sick!

In the Spanish culture, education is important especially to mothers. So if you were feeling down with the flu or anything else you can think of, the would likely say, " Pues ponte VapoRub, eso te ayuda."

10. She's a naturally LOUD person, ESPECIALLY on the phone!

If your mom is talking with her family or close friends at a high tone, you may think she is angry or saying something important. However in reality, that's just how the tone of how Spanish mothers talk. Majority of people who grew up in these households tend to live in a loud environment and this is one of the reasons why. Spanish moms are certainly unique, but in the end of the day, we still love them!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
