Massachusetts is notorious for bad drivers, unpronounceable town names, and a plethora of people that are from "just outside of Boston." If you're one of the lucky ones, then you call this wonderful state your home. Here are ten things that are very true to your life if you live 45 minutes outside of Boston.
1. You don't even bother telling people where you're from, because no one's heard of it.
"Have you heard of Medway? Holliston? Franklin? Milford? What about Framingham? Yeah okay, well I'm kind of from that area."
2. You don't have a Boston accent.
"You're from Boston? Why don't you have a Boston accent?" We just went over this. I'm not from the city, I'm 45 minutes out in a suburban town.
3. People ask you if you've run the Boston Marathon.
Does it look like I've run the Boston Marathon?
4. You get the privilege of multiple Dunks in your town, without the hassle of city traffic.
.
It's Dunks, not Dunkin Donuts.
5. Field trips into the city as a child were the best kind of field trips.
Museum of Science, Fenway Stadium, Freedom Trail, Duck Tours...
6. You were raised on Boston sports, and were disowned if you rooted otherwise.
But who would root for anyone besides the Pats? #TB12
7. You can't actually navigate the city that well, but you sure as hell pretend you can.
*secretly uses GPS while walking*
8. You pray your favorite musicians come to Gillette or The Comcast Center.
TD Garden is cool and all, but no one has time for that traffic.
9. You pretend you're from Boston for the sake of Mark Wahlberg.
Mark Wahlberg may not TECHNICALLY be our "home town boy," but no one knows where your home town is, so it really doesn't matter.
10. You're envious when you tell someone you live 45 minutes from the city, and they tell you they live in the city.
Oh. Nice.
