10 Reasons Why LSU Caterpillars Are Terrifying

It is spring now, which means that LSU's beautiful campus has turned into a place of fear. This fear is caused by the fuzzy, stinging caterpillars that have taken over. They can be found outside falling from trees and hitchhiking to class or the Union on the backs of unsuspecting students.

Every student has probably found at least one caterpillar crawling on them or their belongings and had an embarrassing meltdown because of it.

The caterpillars might just be friendly and harmless, but they could also be trying to take over the world by terrorizing students one campus at a time. Here are some reasons LSU caterpillars are so scary:

1. They seemingly fall from nowhere.

It's like they just fall from the sky and land on you or your backpack. It's pretty much impossible to walk anywhere on campus and avoid walking under the trees, but even if you did you wouldn't be safe.

2. We are outnumbered by them.

There is an endless number of caterpillars crawling around on campus, so if they really were planning to take over we would be seriously outnumbered.

3. The caterpillars have Twitter.

Somehow the caterpillars have figured out how to use Twitter. The account tweets about usual caterpillar things and also tweets students to terrorize them even more.

4. They sting.

Nobody wants to be stung on their way to class. Unless caterpillar stings can get you out of a test, but even then I'm not sure if it's worth it.

5. They are ugly.

No offense to the caterpillars but they are just really ugly. Just looking at one could possibly give you nightmares.

6. They make you paranoid.

You are constantly left worrying about what just landed on your head and if that was a hair or caterpillar that just brushed your arm. You also feel the need to constantly check your surroundings after a near death encounter with one.

7. It's impossible to hide from them.

They are outside, in class, in the Union and maybe even in your backpack or dorm room. They know where you are and they will find you.

8. We have to deal with them every year.

As long as you are a student, you get to look forward to a caterpillar infestation every year. Just hope they don't follow you when you graduate.

9. They can get stuck in your hair.

Nobody wants to brush their hair and realize a caterpillar has been living in it for who knows how long.

10. They are becoming smarter by going to class.

The caterpillars have gotten smart enough to use Twitter, so who knows what they will be able to do after they have attended more classes.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
