10 Reasons Why I'm Thankful For My Best Friend
Caroline Toone

We all have our person that carries us through it all. The person that is always there by your side, the person that can always make you laugh when you're feeling down, and the person you can always count on to be your rock. For some girls, it's their best friend, for some girls, it's their boyfriend. Luckily for me, my boyfriend and best friend is the same person. And for that I am thankful.

1. He treats me like a princess.

Whether it's taking me on fancy dates or being my babysitter after my wisdom teeth surgery, he always treats me like a royal highness. Not many guys would treat me as well as he does, and I'm so blessed he has that quality.

2. He loves me when I'm stressed.

Even though college can be stressful and I can get so wrapped up in trying to get the best grades, he's always there through the A's and the D's.

3. He understands why I cry over Grey's Anatomy.

The post-it note, 007, Lexi, McSteamy, McDreamy... too many feels.

4. He takes a million pictures with me even though he hates it.

Even though he'd rather be doing literally anything else than taking a picture twenty times because it looked awkward or the angle wasn't perfect, I'm thankful he smiles through it.

5. He shows me off like a trophy, but respects me at the same time.

He introduces me to everyone and makes me feel like I'm valued and wanted. He shows me off wrapped around his right arm, but always makes me feel incomparable.

6. He's always encouraging.

The daily texts he sends of "you got this" and "I'm so proud of you" never goes unnoticed. He's my biggest cheerleader and encourager and I couldn't be more thankful.

7. He sings in the car with me.

From Adele to Justin Bieber, he's always in the mood for rolling down the windows, blasting the music and singing at the top of his lungs with me.

8. We always end up eating when we're together.

Mexican food, Chick-Fil-A, Waffle House, Bojangles.. there are just so many good choices.

9. He always makes me laugh.

He has a great sense of humor and can make me laugh on the hardest of days. Whether he makes a corny joke, or is just being his goofball self, he never fails to make me crack a smile.

10. He's my best friend.

I can tell him anything and talk to him about everything. He's the shoulder I cry on and the first person I want to call after I've had a bad day.

Yes, I'm "one of those girls" that calls her boyfriend her best friend, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
