10 Reasons Every Girl Needs a Boy Best Friend

Every girl who has a boy best friend knows it's the best kind of friendship. It's just like having another brother who's there to take care of you, make fun of you, and make you laugh when you need it the most. There's no reason why you shouldn't have a boy best friend, but here are 10 reasons why you should.

1. First and foremost, they're protective.

Like I said, having a boy best friend is like having a brother. And brothers are always looking out for their sisters. They're here to protect us in this cold world in which we live.

2. They bring you back to reality.

Let's face it, we're girls—we can be a little overdramatic. They let us know when we're acting crazy.

3. They offer insight you don't have.

They know boys—they are boys. They'll be straight up about a guy you're interested in and they'll explain the way boys think.

4. You get the chance to just be a dude.

Nobody chills harder than boys. Just sit back, watch a stupid movie with them, and enjoy the simplicity.

5. They're not judgmental.

For once, you don't have to worry about what you're wearing and putting makeup on. They couldn't care less about how dolled up you are.

6. They aren't afraid to be honest.

We gossip all of the time; the boys I know couldn't care less about who's dating whom and who's no longer friends. They'll tell you when you're being stupid and petty.

7. You get to laugh at them and their friends.

Listening to boys having a conversation is fun all in itself. They are so simple and so savage at the same time; they're not afraid of saying anything. Just sit back and listen for your enjoyment.

8. You can use them to get rid of a creeper.

People already assume you're a couple when you go out in public. Hang around them all night and the creeper will most likely assume the same thing and move on.

9. You can make fun of each other with zero consequences.

A lot of the friendship is giving each other crap for stupid things. It's fun and actually endearing.

10. Last but not least, you've got a friend for life.

The bond between a girl and her boy best friend cannot be broken; it is one of the truest friendships. Congratulations, you have a brother and a best friend for life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
