Life is incredible difficult, and often leaves us at a lost for words. Thankfully, we have the words of the wise to help guide us-those who knew what to say when we don't. So I present ten of some of my favorite quotes that I try to apply to myself daily, cause we all need a little advice sometimes.

I adore this quote- life is full of decisions that have the ability to impact our lives forever, and it's important to be reminded of what your long-term desires are and how they are often worth much more than the temporary elations of this life

This is especially relevant to the state of the world today-it is so easy to retaliate in anger or bitterness or to allow the cruelties of this life to harden our hearts-this quote challenges us to take courage and maintain compassion and trust in the good of humanity.

It seems as if we are constantly waiting-waiting for the school day to end, for the work day to end, for the weekend, for the next big trip, for the next break, for the next step in our stairway to happiness...And although it is important to keep your goals in sight, it is never worth the value of the present day an everything that it presents. This life is too short to be spent thinking of what is to come rather than enjoying what is now.

You deserve to know that it is impossible to be loved by everyone and that you are loved by those who matter-so find peace in the knowledge that not being someone else's idea of perfect doesn't make you any less than that.

Find what you love. Share that love. We all have the power to make a difference with the talents we have been given, whether it be in the smallest or largest of ways.

If you haven't watched Kid President before, do so NOW. It's incredible how such a young person can have such a wise mind, and this quote expresses that- we all have the power to change the life of others, for they will never forget how you make them feel.

Eleanor Roosevelt was a woman of incredible wisdom and compassion. It is so easy to sacrifice the well-being of others by including them in gossip that makes you feel temporarily included with others- when we talk about people we our wasting breath that could be better spent speaking of how we could improve this life we live in- why talk about your neighbor down the street when you could be talking about ways to make a neighbor of everyone?

The problem with nostalgia is that it often makes us believe that the past was actually better than it was, making us doubt the opportunities of the future. Although it is important to cherish memories, it is dangerous to dwell on them. So look forward- and don't forget sunglasses, cause your future is incredibly bright.

Sometimes it's up to us to make the first move- and to not allow the actions and reactions of others to hinder our own happiness and positive thinking.

I challenge you to remind yourself of these quotes daily and to allow them to infiltrate your life and change it for the better- one positive thought at a time. The challenge is great, but the reward will be greater.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
