If you love adventure, odds are you've ventured out in the U.S. to find the best places to hike, swim, or climb random things. Here in the U.S. we have some of the best adventure spots right in our backyard! I came up with 15 places you should add to your adventure list. No matter if you are out west, up north, or out east. There are plenty of areas to cover.
1. Havasu Falls (Supai, Arizona)
If the beautiful teal water doesn't captive you, the breathtaking waterfalls will. Havasu is one of the most captivating places in the United States. If you can make the grueling hike down you'll be rewarded with fun in the water.
2. Lake Tahoe
Stretching from California to Nevada, Lake Tahoe is a popular destination for every season. Whether you want to hit the slopes or walk the trails, you'll fall in love with Lake Tahoe.
3. Parry Grove trail (San Diego, California)
It's a hidden spot filled with dunes in California. Parry Grove trail is right on the outside of San Diego, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
4. Lake Superior Hiking Trail (Minnesota)
Paying tribute to my home-state, the Lake Superior Hiking Trail stretches all around Lake Superior, establishing the boundary waters as well. Beautiful colors, and private trails will bring you back for more.
5. Tillamook Head Trail (Oregon)
A six-mile hike along the Oregon shore will have you speechless. You can also run into the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse that sits on a boulder in the middle of the ocean.
6. Siyeh Bend (Kalispell, Montana)
Waterfalls and mountains.. what more could you ask for? It's the perfect adventure spot. Grab your hiking boots and venture to Montana.
7. Sedona (Arizona)
A short drive from Flagstaff, Sedona is buried in the beautiful red rock canyon.
8. Kalalau Trail (Hawaii)
Hiking along the Hawaii shore on top of volcanoes and taking a dip in the ocean while you're done: an amazing spot for an adventure!
9. Solstice Canyon (California)
Hidden waterfalls in the rocks of Solstice Canyon, and finding hidden trails to hike as well. Just a short drive from Malibu, California.
10. Grand Marais (Minnesota)
This is where my enjoyment for hiking came. I've hiked The Lake Superior hiking trail and Eagle Mountain (the highest point in MN) in Grand Marais. There are so many sights accompanied by a small harbor city just 2 hours north of Duluth, Minnesota.
11. Apostle Islands (La Pointe, Wisconsin)
In Lake Superior, at the tip of Wisconsin are 21 islands and 12 miles of beaches and cliffs. Just a short drive from Duluth, Minnesota or even Minneapolis. In the winter, visitors can find the ice caves to wander through.
12. Coeur d'Alene (Idaho)
Known as the "Lake City," Coeur d'Alene is home of the Ironman Challenge and where it was founded. This city is surrounded by lakes, hiking tails, and open land.
13. Mount Rainer (Washington)
Located 54 miles south of Seattle, Mount Rainer is one of the highest mountains in Washington state. What makes Mount Rainer a perfect adventure spot is that it's an active volcano to this day.
14. Gauley River (West Virginia)
One of the most exciting things to do on a river, white water rafting. Here on the Gauley River in West Virginia you can do just that. Over 100 miles long of adrenaline-pumping rafting.

To finish off the list, the beautiful Zion National Park. The huge red rocks of Utah are perfect for any adventure seeker.
