Fall is here, and I truly believe that it is the perfect season for going on cute dates with your partner. The thing I love most about Oregon is all of the amazing activities you can do or beautiful sites to see that make for the perfect date. No matter what you like to do, there is always some place or something you can do that will make you and your partner have an excellent time. Whether it is for a first date, or just something to do, here are the top 10 places in Oregon that I think would make the perfect date!

1. 99W Twin Indoor Cinema

Located in Newberg, Oregon, the old-school drive in theatre makes for the perfect date where you can cuddle up next to bae and watch a funny movie in the comfort of your own car.

2. Departure

Known as an upscale Asian restaurant with chic space and a view of the city, Departure, in Downtown Portland, is a perfect little spot to go and have a nice date. It’s not too expensive, but also not cheap.

3. Hawthorne Blvd.

If you’re into cute portland aesthetic stores, Hawthorne Blvd. would make a very cute adventurous date. There are plenty of stores and coffee shops, as well as some unique restaurants. And of course, you can’t forget about Powell’s Books.

4. Crown Point/ Vista House

It may be a cliche spot, but honestly every time I go, my breathe is still taken away by the outstanding views. Even more so if i’m with that special person. What does it for me is the drive, which brings me to the next spot:

5. Multnomah Falls

With the amazing drive to get there, if you're going directly from Vista House, it really gives you a tease of how beautiful Oregon really is. With the beautiful waterfall, and the cute gift shop, the best part about this location is the story behind the falls. Haven't heard of it? Look it up!

6. Angels Rest

If you are down to get sweaty and dirty with your partner, then this is the perfect date! The 9.7 mile hike, leads you up to the top to overlook the gorge, and right back down. 9.7 miles may seem like a lot, but once you reach the top, you'll know that it was worth it.

7. The Oregon Zoo

No matter where you live, Zoo's will always be a prime location for a date, unless it's the Cincinnati Zoo, RIP Harambe. The Oregon Zoo is probably one of my favorite Zoo's in the United States because of the wide rage of animals you can see, and activities you can do.

8. 1000 Acres Dog Park

If you or your partner own a dog and share a mutual love for them, a trail near the Sandy River Delta, is for you!

9. St. Helens

"Halloweentown" will forever and always be one of my favorite Halloween movies, especially since Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Every year, the city of St. Helens, OR, decorate the town to make it look like Halloweentown, where the movie was filmed. Take a trip during Halloween to really get the feel.

10. Seaside, OR

Last but not least, the beach! The drive is just a date in itself, especially if you stop at Camp 18 to get some good food. Seaside is probably my favorite beach to go to because of all the little shops and things to do! I go every year and never get bored of going to the exact same store, every single time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
