10 Of Muhammad Ali's Legendary Quotes
CNN

As we all have recently heard the legend Muhammad Ali passed away from Parkinson's disease on June 3rd. Muhammad Ali was considered as an athletic gift with being a three-time world heavyweight-boxing champion who was always ready to take on anyone who would approach him. He was nothing short of a legend and knew it; he was thrilled with himself while being proud and confident. He was never much of a worrier and stood up for not only himself in the boxing ring but also for what he thought was right and what needed to be changed within society. Muhammad Ali will be greatly missed but these ten quotes are perfect representations of his strengths and what he stood for...

1. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. His hands can't hit what his eyes can't see. Now you see me, now you don't."

Muhammad Ali's all time famous quote and his motto while in the boxing ring. He wouldn't be seen and when he was it was him defeating not him being defeated.

2. "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."

Muhammad Ali was not just the all time greatest boxer, he was much more. He cared about society and how people were getting treated when it came to basic things such as race. He believed strongly in being true to others and who they are rather than focusing on what they looked like. You deserved to be on earth if you were servicing to others.

3. "Don't count the days; make the days count."

We hear quotes like this all the time but I don't think we always completely take them in. Ali believed in making the best out of everyday instead of dreading what you are doing or what is to come.

4. "It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it's the pebble in your shoe."

Muhammad Ali was one that never gave up. This quote shows that if you are thinking about not being able to make it up the mountain than it is mental or it is something as simple as a pebble that can be stopped, it is not the mountain itself.

5. "If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize."

Muhammad Ali was confident, and this was shown through is actions as well as through his words.

6. "Braggin' is when a person says something and can't do it. I do what I say."

If you can do it, do it and be proud of it. Ali was one who could do anything he set his mind to and when he succeeded he was proud.

7. "I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was."

Muhammad Ali was not someone who would even consider talking himself down. He was someone that thought highly of himself and embraced it.

8. "A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life."

This quote is a huge attention grabber because it really makes you think about life and how you've done it. Ali shows us through this quote that ones perspective of life should be changing as they live and if it doesn't then they have been wasting their time.

9. "I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion'."

Quitting was not an option in Muhammad Ali's life. Through all of the pain it will be worth it and Ali teaches us that not only through this quote but also through his actions.

10. "Live everyday as if it were your last because someday you're going to be right."

With the recent passing of Ali this is by far his best quote. It shows that he lived everyday that he had fully and is truly the greatest.

Rest In Peace Muhammad Ali

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
