The early 2000s was an all around great time. From weird fashion trends to eccentric music, the early 2000s brought the world some great things to look back at. One of my favorite things about growing up in the early 2000s was sleeping over at a friends house and watching a great movie. The following are some of my favorite movies my friends and I would watch at a sleepover.

1. "13 Going on 30"

This movie had everything you would want in a chick flick: weird magic that takes you back in time, great dance scenes, and of course, Mark Ruffalo. We all secretly wished that we too were "30, flirty, and thriving." Plus, we all really wanted to learn the whole choreography to Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and some of us actually did.

2. "John Tucker Must Die"

This movie was perfect. We all love a good revenge movie, and it makes it even better that Brooke from "One Tree Hill," Brittany Snow, and Ashanti star in this hilarious comedy.

3. "Mean Girls"

This is a given for any slumber party. I pretty much had this movie memorized after only a week of seeing it for the first time. It's endless quotable scenes along with it's perfect casting makes this movie a slumber party classic.

4. "Big Fat Liar"

This is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again without getting tired of it. Frankie Muniz and Amanda Bynes were such the dream team, and both of them being in this movie just makes it so much better than it already is. This movie definitely made me want to get locked inside of a prop room with my best friend.

5. "The Cheetah Girls"

If you watched this movie growing up with your friends, you probably all claimed which Cheetah Girl you identified with. You also probably acted out the different scenes and made sure to belt out every song that they sang together. Honestly, I still want one of their matching cheetah jumpsuits.

6. "Bring it On"

Since Netflix recently put this gem online, I haven't been able to stop quoting it in all of it's greatness. This movie was a classic for any sleepover, and it still is to this day a great movie to watch with all of your friends.

7. "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen"

The only thing I love more than this movie is its soundtrack. I don't think I will ever be able to be as dramatic as the character Lola was in this movie, but I definitely think I have gotten many of my dramatic tendencies from her. This movie is so underrated, and I just think it needs to make a comeback ASAP.

8. "Clueless"

The only thing I would really like to thank the Iggy Azalea song "Fancy" for it for allowing this movie to make a comeback. It's great one-liners and fantastic outfits make this movie so 90s and so brilliant.

9. "Never Been Kissed"

Who wouldn't want to go back to high school as an undercover reporter? This movie made us look at stereotypes and reflect on the way we treated others and ourselves. I will always love this movie, especially since Drew Barrymore stars in it, and she's just awesome in general.

10. "The Notebook"

Okay, I had to. I feel like everyone had a point where they watched this at a sleepover, and didn't want to admit that they cried a little at the end. This move is sappy and romantic, but also a very classic movie to watch at a sleepover with all of your best friends.

11. Honorable Mentions

Can't forget "Sleepover," "Legally Blonde," "Aquamarine," "The Princess Diaries," "10 Things I Hate About You," and "Miss Congeniality."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
