I have always been amazed at the power words have, even if it's just the power to get me up out of bed and moving in the morning. Sometimes all it takes are a couple phrases of affirmation and a new perspective to realize you can take on anything. Here are 10 of my favorite motivational quotes from my "Inspiration" Pinterest board that I look back on whenever I forget why I do what I do. So if you're having a slow day, week, or even month, hopefully these words will leave you remembering just how much the world has to offer, and how much you have to offer it.

1. "I am in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing." -- Louise L. Hay

Simplicity at its best. Sometimes all you need is a couple of deep breaths and a literal reminder to live in the moment and not doubt yourself. I love this quote because I usually tend to do the opposite aka worry too much about what already happened or what's to come in the future.

2. "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." -- Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou is one of the greats, and her poetic words in this case showcase the importance of having experiences, not necessarily for the achievements reached at the end, but for the intangible impact made on others and yourself. Success can be defined in many different ways.

4. "The best use of imagination is creativity. The worst use of imagination is anxiety." -- Deepak Chopra

Overthinking is one of the worst weaknesses I have, as I'm sure many people can relate. But the great thing about overthinking is you never run out of ideas, you just have to remember to take them outside the realms of your mind, which tends to blow things out of proportion.

Oscar Wilde is one of my favorite authors, and this is probably the most uncomplicated, positive thing I've ever heard him say. It's always good to take a look around us and take a moment to appreciate all that we already have and love.

This quote is just one of the many that can change your perspective in an instant. It reveals the opportunity for success when all you are used to thinking about are the failures. Even if your past weighs heavy, it doesn't mean your future has to as well.

As we grow older, we tend to believe less and less in magic, but I believe it still exists in things we take for granted, everything from simple human interactions to the changing colors of the sky when the sun rises. It's not unrealistic in the slightest if you already know it to be true. Beauty is in life everywhere, and it's when things are tough that we have to push to remind ourselves of it the most in order to stay hopeful and positive.
